Four mohair jointed teddy bears comprising a Steiff button-in-ear brown mohair '1909 Classic Teddybär' teddy bear in brown mohair bear with growler, ribbon bow tie and cream pads, a limited edition Merrythought 'Sun Bleached Replica IL14RT' bear no.384/750 with cream fabric bow tie and red pads, signed in pen by Oliver Holmes and one other to right foot with certificate of authenticity, a golden musical example playing a lullaby with clockwork mechanism (in working order), possibly by Chad Valley, and a further unmarked golden example, the largest 36cm (4). CONDITION REPORT: Steiff and Merrythought bears appear to be in generally good condition with minor surface dirt and minor wear to pads and stitching, the remaining bear significantly more worn with areas of loss to mohair, significant deterioration and discolouration to pads and loose joints. In our opinion, the pink bear is modern.

Two Chad Valley blonde mohair teddy bears, the larger with navy and white scarf and growler, both with central seam, black and orange glass eyes, stitched nose and mouth, and stitched Royal Appointment labels to left feet, the larger 44cm, also two further bears, one blonde mohair with navy bow tie and tilt-activated internal musical block (4). CONDITION REPORT: Areas of loss to mohair throughout, deterioration to stitching and pads, smallest bear has replacement pads.

Three jointed mohair teddy bears, the longest with centre seam, orange and black glass eyes, stitched nose and mouth, brown velvet pads and tartan ribbon bow tie, lacking label but with purchase receipt referring to bear as 'Chiltern', length 34cm, and two further similar bears including a blonde Merrythought example (3). CONDITION REPORT: First bear with small areas of loss to mohair, more extensive to other bears, some small areas of loss to stitching, pads of all bears worn and stained.

Five mohair teddy bears comprising a Merrythought Harrods exclusive edition with branded green ribbon bow tie, black buttoned eyes, stitched nose and mouth, brown pads, growler and certificate of authenticity, a further limited edition golden example no.11/2500, also a limited edition Dean's Ragbook Co bear with red velvet bow tie no.873/2500 and two further white and pink examples both wearing ribbon bow ties, the longest 51cm (5). CONDITION REPORT: Merrythought, Howards and Deans Ragbook Co bears with attached of authenticity, bears to be good condition except the largest pink example which has significant loss to mohair, surface dirt and staining to body and hands, fraying and holes to bow tie, deterioration to stitching at joints.

CONDITION REPORT: Chad Valley bear with losses to mohair, deterioration to stitching and pads, staining and fraying to bow tie ribbon.

CONDITION REPORT: Merrythought bear appears to be in generally good condition with minor surface dirt, remaining bears with minor major areas of loss to mohair, the two golden with bears significantly deterioration to stitching and pads.

Three mohair teddy bears comprising a golden/blonde Paddington Bear with orange and black glass eyes, plastic nose with red union jack embossed hat, blue duffel coat, black rubber wellington boots and attached 'Darkest Peru to England' address label, a Merrythought panda bear with attached label, an unmarked blonde musical sleeping bear with cream satin bow with clockwork movement playing a lullaby (in working order) and a brown plush 'Nookie Bear' ventriloquists dummy with attached rosette and rear pull-ring operating plastic black, brown and white eyes, the longest 52cm (4). CONDITION REPORT: Bears appear to be in good condition with minor surface dirt, the dummy with minor losses to plush, scratches to plastic features and staining to rosette.

A CASED PAIR OF 22 BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOLS BY HARVEY WALKLATE MORTIMER, CIRCA 1780 each with rebrowned twist octagonal sighted barrel signed 'H Mortimer' in script and inscribed 'London' in italic capitals, engraved with a band of beadwork (refreshed), struck with the barrelsmith's, London Gunmakers Company view and proof marks at the breech, stepped lock engraved with foliage on the tail and beneath the pan, signed in script beneath the latter, fitted with bevelled cock decorated en suite, and steel with roller, figured walnut full stock, flat-sided butt with flattened spine, engraved iron mounts comprising trigger-guard with a flower on the bow and acorn finial, pear-shaped butt-pate decorated with a sunburst, two ramrod-pipes (later ramrods): in a contemporary fitted oak case lined in green baize, the case lid with flush-fitting brass carrying handle on the outside and trade label for William Bond at 59 Lombard Street on the inside, complete with a brass three-way flask 26.0 cm; 10 1/4 in barrels Flat-sided butts, characteristically associated with Wogdon, are rarely encountered with this maker. See Munson 1992, p. 182, plate 280.
