A George III Mahogany Bow-front Sideboard cross-banded in satinwood and inlaid with decorative stringing. The top having a gilt brass gallery rail screwed into three baluster uprights surmounted by urn finials and measuring 48 ins (122 cms) in width. The frieze drawer above an arched kneehole flanked by deep cellaret drawers retaining their original ring handles on lion-mask mounts and raised on six ring-turned tapering legs inlaid with vertical strings.
D...W...E...Gutman (19th/20th century) A Scene on the River Amazon with a Cruise Liner Beside the River Bank, Two Men in a Wooden Canoe Fishing in the Foreground, One Holding a Bow and Arrow, a Native Hut under Palm Trees in the Foreground] Signed and dated "1923", oil on canvas, 25.5cm by 46cm (10in by 18in) *The vessel portrayed in the picture is possibly the "SS Hildebrand" portrayed on the Amazon on a cruise which left Liverpool on 15th May 1923, sailing via the southern end of Ireland towards Cape Finisterre on the Spanish coast entering Leixoes Harbour on 18th May 1923 and going on to visit Lisbon, Madeira, Manaus (Manowes), entering the Rio Negro on 5th June 1923. *The artist is said to have been the Chief Engineer on the "SS Hildebrand". *The painting is sold together with details of the trip compiled by France and Fanny Littlewood of West Yorkshire.
