A PROBABLE LATE 19TH /EARLY 20TH CENTURY CASED VIOLIN & BOW having plain varnish top with tigerwood sides & two piece back (14 & 3/4") with well played tigerwood neck & scrolling headstock, 74cm plain mahogany bow (frog seized)Condition report – Necks not loose, there is a crack to the head coming from the hole fitted with the top peg.  There is a crack to the front panel, in the lower section, right over to the edge, about 1cm in, no signs of woodworm. No damage to the stick of the bow.

A FIRST QUARTER 20TH CENTURY MAHOGANY FINISHED BREAKFRONT UNIT having shaped pediment over four astragal glazed doors opening to reveal adjustable shelved interior, supporting on a base unit having four graduated central drawers, flanked by two plain panel cupboard doors, the whole on a plain plinth base, approx. 214cm x 182cmCondition report: The crest top does bow up slightly, particularly on the left, it is put together properly.  There are scratches, scars, and fading, a glued repair to waist moulding on right, there are splits to right hand side top & bottom, there is a bubble to the veneer of the frieze too.

Amati pattern violin, with one-piece figured back and dark brown varnish, in case with bow.Condition report: Old repaired soundpost split to the belly running the entire length of the instrument body. Splits running from the lower 'F' holes to the bottom edge of the body, these seem stable but we cannot tell if they have been properly repaired. The soundpost is present. The neck has repairs and new pieces of spliced in wood around the heel. Small chips to the points of some of the corners. Scratching wear and signs of age generally. No labels present. The case has some damages.
