A 19th century bird's eye maple back violin by John McLean, to of Edinburgh and dated 1894 to the interior paper label, 15"/38cm, with W Siefert bow and presented in velvet lined original 'Jaeger' etui case. CONDITION REPORT Crack across the button behind the fingerboard, crack to the sound board and by the bottom button. The bow has some perishing to the cover of the whipping, polish is ruined. Some wear to the edge of the lid. Part of the handle clasp is missing and one catch faulty.
A cased c1940s students' violin, across back 37cm with a nickel-mounted bow a nd a two-piece Brierley 'Storm' pool cue with case, length approx 146cm (2). CONDITION REPORT The interior of the violin case labelled 'Rushworth & Dreaper'. Marks to the finish on the case, needs re-stringing. The bow whipping is coming apart.
