An old mainly wooden model of the WWII German submarine U71, approximately 42” overall, details include periscopes, deck mounted guns, screws and rudder, bow and stern planes, etc. Basically GC (a little dirty and battered), in its purpose built glazed wooden display case 46” x 15” x 8”. U71 was launched in October 1940, sank 5 ships with a total tonnage of 38,894 tons, and was scuttled in Wilhelmshaven on 2nd May 1945. Plate 20
CASED FISH: Preserved Golden Orfe by Homer in gilt lined bow front case, fully reeded over gravel, blue backboard, Homer paper label inside top left, gilt inscription reads Golden Orfe, 3lbs 2ozs, 4 drms, Caught at Woodbridge by Bill Penny 17th July 1938, case measures 30" x15" x8". A gents Omega 18ct gold Constellation chronometer, having signed silvered dial with baton markers, date aperture, automatic movement, and on replacement 18ct gold meshlink bracelet, gross weight 87.3g, sold with original red leather Omega box and some papers, dia.3.5cm (excluding crown) Condition Report / Extra Information Fully working. Glass with small scratch between centre and 5 0' clock, small scratch to outer edge at 8 0' clock, and two fine scratches between 1 and 12 0' clock. Dial with a number of small 'bubbles' to silvering all over. Case god and clean. Bracelet good, possibly associated as not stamped Omega. The whole appears little worn. Bow with some tarnishing to extremities. Paperwork not original to box.
