A Marcolini Meissen figure group of 'The Secret' circa 1774-1817 modelled by M.V.Acier and J.C.Schonheit as two ladies standing, one resting on the shoulder of the other who is pointing to two birds on the ground before them, to the rear an urn and cover, a bow and a quiver of arrows raised on a column suspended with a wreath of roses, the edge of the oval base moulded with arched lobes heightened in gilt crossed swords and asterisk in underglaze-blue 24.7cm., 9.75in. minor chips, some regilding to base A contemporary engraving of the model is illustrated by T.H.Clarke, Marcolini Meissen Figures, Engraved by Friedrich Elsasser 1785-1792, p.66, no.26.
