BERINGER, PARIS A CASED 14-BORE PINFIRE ROTARY-UNDERLEVER DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING RIFLE, serial no. 1995, dated `1854`, with 27 1/2in. twist octagonal sighted barrels signed `ITION. BTE. BERINGER A PARIS` on the rib and fitted with a bayonet mount on the side of the right barrel, action and back-action locks chiselled in low relief with foliage, well figured walnut stock (cracked through and repaired at the hand), scroll-fronted trigger-guard decorated en suite and forming the underlever, the bow of the trigger-guard with circular escutcheon with the gilt initials `J.C.`, iron sling mounts, and iron clearing rod, barrels forged by Albert Bernard, in associated lined and fitted mahogany case, the lid with flush-fitting brass carrying-handle and circular brass escutcheon.
