Large Celtic Brooch. Circa, 8th -5th century B.C. A one piece penannular type brooch that originated from what is now Italy. The piece has a thick bow that tappers to its ends, one terminating with a flat catch plate and the other a coiled spring and long pin. The bow is finely decorated with a series of engraved bands. Ref: Hattatt, p.285. fig. 199. Accompanied by an old dealers ticket.
Roman bronze brooch. A large silvered bronze bow brooch of unusual form. The head is flat with integral chain loop and meets a large circular recess on the bow, which probably held a roundel of glass or bone. The foot and catchplate are in the manner of a P-shaped and crossbow brooches of the 2nd - 3rd centuries. 85mm, 30.0g.
Roman bronze P-shaped brooch with iron pin. A very nice example of a 2nd - 3rd century P-shaped brooch having a returned foot and punched and incised decoration on the upper surface of the bow. The bilateral iron pin with internal chord survives intact and is still mobile. 62mm, 21.6g Cf. Hattatt 488.

Anno 1883'; TOGETHER WITH a bow stamped GERMANY and branded initials ACHM in a cross, 740mm long; in a baize-lined wood case with extra keys, frets, strings, and tailpiece(back 358mm long, upper bout 170mm, lower bout 214mm)Footnote: Note: Ludwig Spohr, 1784 -1859, was a German composer, violinist, and conductor. Highly regarded during his lifetime, he toured extensively through Europe, and made six tours of England beginning in 1820. He composed more than one hundred and fifty works in the Romantic style, but fell into obscurity for most of the 20th century, but has experienced a rediscovery over the last few decades.
An Art Deco diamond encrusted brooch, the two diamonds set in the bow weighing approx. 0.10 carats each, crafted in white metal, unmarked, gross weight 4.42g, length 40mm. Condition - small area where two stones appear to be missing, possible repair to clasp, otherwise ok, sold without certificate, however, the diamonds are extremely vibrant, no yellowness, minor inclusions visible with 10x loupe only.
