Rose Gold - A Masonic pendant/brooch, the back with the 'all seeing eye', the front having an enamel decorated cross with scales, bow and three arrows, staff and snake surmounted by a skull with red stone eyes and with crossed bones, the remains of an ornate watch chain and the remains of another ornate watch chain, weight 28g approximately.
Automaton - 'The Commissionaire', a mid century felt behatted and uniformed figure, scratch built, with painted carved wood hands and face, moving jaw, swivelling head and moving arms, standing on a wooden base with electrics within, figure height 59.5cm, overall height 77.5cm. Provenance: This automaton shop window device was made by the vendor's late father Alexander Buchanan (7/10/1910 - 31/01/2004) around the 1950s and was to commercially exploit a gap in the market for window displays for hire. It was put to work in Palmers Green in London in those days in various shop windows to great effect. The mains driven device enables the figure to bow, turn his head, move his arm, move his eyes, twiddle his nose and move his mouth.
