A 19th century French burr walnut, rosewood banded and brass inlaid work box, the top with foliate shaped central plaque and spandrels, the interior fitted with removable boxes and compartments, makers label for 'Mon. Commoy & Dumond, Succt, 2 Rue St Dominique, Lyon', 38cm wideLid has a slight convex bow. The brass edge is lifting to the back right corner and there is some loss to the brass stringing to the lid. Interior good, the base of the removable chamfered compartment is detached but present.

An early 19th century mahogany bookcase by Gillow, with bow fronted base, the top with astragal glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the base with inlaid doors over splaying bracket front feet, stamped 'Gillow' to back left top of the lower section, 102cm wide x 29cm deep x 203.5cm highMinor marks, dents and scratches overall due to age and use. No keys. Some fading to the top front of the lower section, the doors slightly warped to the lower section, the doors also in need of repolishing. Losses to the small section of moulding top right hand side, slight split to veneer top right hand side above the door, the upper right door very slightly bowed as can be seen from the side.
