A 1796 pattern infantry sword, the 82.5cm fullered steel blade with etched decoration and bayonet tip, the gilt brass hilt with folding guard, knuckle bow with bud finial, cast wire effect grip and urn pommel, 98.5cm long overall, lacking scabbard, with a similar example lacking knuckle bow and finial, a c1790 Naval officer's sword with 74.5cm straight fullered steel blade, the brass stirrup hilt with single bar knuckle bow and horn grip mounted with a brass fouled anchor shield, 88.5cm long overall, and c1790 Naval type sword with 81cm straight fullered etched steel blade with bayonet tip, the steel stirrup hilt with single bar knuckle bow and ribbed and wired ivory grip, 92.5cm long overall, lacking scabbard (4) (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The 1796 pattern infantry sword shows wear and tarnishing to the blade, wear to the gilt brass finish of the hilt and a build up of polish residue in various crevices. The 1796 pattern infantry sword lacking knuckle bow and finial is in a similar condition with painted losses. Its scabbard shows a detached brass mounted tip with crude attempted repair and further damage to the leather below the top mount. All the scabbard mounts show wear, dents and tarnish.The naval officer's sword with horn grip shows nicks, tarnishing and wear to the blade, with any etched or engraved decoration to the blade worn away. The hilt shows an open but apparently secure joint where the knuckle bar meets the hilt. The pommel shows a possible later capstan rivet. All brass areas show wear and tarnishing. The horn grip shows a build up of polish. The scabbard shows a crude repair to the tip.The naval officer's sword with ivory grip shows wear, tarnishing and pitting to the blade and steel hilt, and wear, staining and cracking to the ivory grip. The grip wiring is also detached in places.

FE...A...A' in the fuller, set in an associated basket guard hilt with knuckle bow, wire grip and flat pierced pommel, 99cm long overall, lacking scabbard (at fault)Condition reportGeneral light speckled tarnishing and pitting to the blade, several minor nicks to the top the blade, the associated guard doesn't sit flush with the blade and has overall tarnishing with some light soldering to the bottom tip, the pommel later applied with evidence of glue, extensive wear to the makers name, see further images

A German sword, 18th century, the 58.5cm single edged curved fullered steel blade with bayonet tip, each side etched with a lion rampant holding a sword and shield with crown above, on one side over an inscription 'Fur Gott und Das Vatterland', the brass hilt with heart shaped guard, thumb loop knuckle bow, cast wire-effect grip and ball pommel with raised capstan rivet, 73.5cm long over all, lacking scabbard (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The blade shows tarnishing and discolouration throughout, including two small areas of dense dark residue of some kind on each side of the blade approximately 8cm up from the hilt.  The blade is firmly fixed in the hilt, but there are visible gaps around the fixing, and a build up of what appears to be polish residue.  The brass hilt shows tarnishing and the odd small area of discolouration.

A Naval court sword, 19th century, the 50cm hollow triangular steel blade etched with foliate motifs, the brass stirrup hilt with wire bound fish skin grip, shield shaped crown and fouled anchor langets, the foliate detailed knuckle bow entering a lion's mask pommel with mane detail extending up the grip, 59.5cm long overall, in brass mounted scabbard, with a basket hilt court sword, the 62.5cm single edged fullered steel blade with bayonet tip, the three bar brass hilt with knuckle bow, wire bound horn grip and stepped pommel, 63cm long overall, lacking scabbard, and two further court swords (4) (at fault)

She studied at Gloucestershire College of Art and Design (1974-75) and Wolverhampton Polytechnic (1975-78). She received her MFA from the University of Reading in 1982 and honorary doctorates from the University of Wolverhampton in 2000, the University of Birmingham (2005), the University of Gloucestershire (2008) and the University of Manchester (2017). In 1997, Cornelia Parker was shortlisted for the Turner Prize alongside artists Christine Borland, Angela Bulloch and Gillian Wearing (who won the prize). Parker is currently Honorary Professor at the University of Manchester. Parker is best known for her large-scale sculptures, such as Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View (1991), first exhibited at the Chisenhale Gallery in Bow, London.3 In 1997, at the Turner Prize exhibition, Parker exhibited Mass (Colder Darker Matter) (1997), suspending the charred remains of a church that had been struck by lightning in Texas. Eight years later, Parker made a piece called Anti-Mass (2005), using charcoal from a church in Kentucky that had been destroyed by arson.
