A fine quality 19th century mahogany buffet sideboard of diminutive proportions. The well figured top with neo classical form gallery back. Roundel corners supported on turned carved and reeded supports single bow fronted drawer above a shaped lower shelf. Inlaid with satin wood stringing decoration. 42" x 22" x 41".
A VIOLIN by John W Owen, Leeds, the one piece back with medium curl, ascending from left to right, the ribs and head of a similar wood, the table of medium grain with honey coloured varnish, length of back 14 1/2" wide, trade label, signed and dated 1929, No.1402, with later bow, in modern canvas case
A 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY SATINWOOD BANDED AND INLAID BOW-FRONTED CHEST bordered with satinwood, boxwood and ebony lines, the top with a rosewood crossbanded border, containing two short and three long drawers within a satinwood banded surround, on splayed bracket feet, 105.5cm (3ft 5 1/2in) wide.
A hand-carved rocking horse by Margaret Spencer, the dappled grey body with inset amber glass eyes, slightly flared nostrils, an open mouth with teeth, and a plaited mane and tail, fitted with a leather bridle, reins, padded saddle and stirrups, on wooden bow rockers (the latter detachable for transportation or storage), overall 201cm long, 127cm high.
