Taff Vale Railway 12 inch mahogany cased drop dial trunk fusee clock, by Joseph Collings of Cardiff circa 1870. This significant and rare clock is in original ex railway condition with GWR on the dial and ghosted writing Jo Collings 22 Cardiff, probably indicating this was TVR clock No 22. The mahogany case features flame mahogany veneers, a brass bow tie lenticle window and ornately carved ears, the GWR ivorine numberplate No 2692 is screwed onto the left hand side of the case , the movement has shaped shoulders and turned barrelled pillars and is in working condition however the fusee wire line is frayed and will need to be replaced asap. Altogether a truly magnificent pre grouping time piece complete with pendulum and key.
