A PAIR OF MID 18TH CENTURY IBERIAN EMERALD EAR PENDANTS AND A BERYL PENDANT CIRCA 1760 The ear pendants made in the traditional form with emerald cluster pediments with pierced scrolled surmount, to a pierced bow panel, and pear shaped emerald cluster drop with scrolled detail, the closed back settings with evidence of a punch mark to the reverse, with hinged hook fittings; together with a similar Iberian pendant with green and blue tinted beryl pierced bow with foliate connector to a pierced and scrolled cross shaped panel drop, the reverse with stitching bars, later bale Size/dimensions: earrings 5.4cm long, pendant excluding bale 7.3cm long Gross weight: 22.8 grams A similar pair of earrings are illustrated in Georgian Jewellery 1714-1830, by Ginny Redington Dawes with Olivia Collings, page 109 Condition Report: Pendant: There are lead soldered repairs visible to the reverse, joining sections have been replaced, there are a couple of knocks to the gold commensurate with age and use, the bale is later soldered on, the reverse has the bars where it could be stitched onto fabric. The emeralds are a bit pale and have typical inclusions, the stones are all presentEar pendants: the emeralds have some slight variation in colour, typical inclusions, they both have general wear commensurate with age and use, the earring fastenings in good useable orderOne earring has a replaced connector, some lead solder visible. A VICTORIAN AND LATER DIAMOND SCROLLED BROOCH The curved pierced scrolled foliate settings set throughout with old mine cut diamonds, to a central oval diamond set drop panel, between two pear shaped diamond drops, approximately 5.46 carats total, gold backed silver setting, with later brooch fitting Size/dimensions: 4.4cm wide Gross weight: 11.7 grams Condition Report: The brooch has had some adaptations, it is noticeably curved when viewed from the side, there are two vacant slide fittings to the top, and the later brooch fitting, the middle drop is missing an additional drop, some small lead solder repairs, the two side drops may be from an associated jewel.The principal diamond to the bow colour estimated H/I, medium fluorescence, clarity VS/VVS, assessed in settings. A VICTORIAN PINK TOPAZ AND DIAMOND NECKLACE CIRCA 1880 The old European cut diamond set trefoil leaf shaped links with two diamond and pink topaz clusters, to a central diamond set bow, suspending a removeable diamond and pink topaz cluster brooch/pendant, the topaz estimated to weigh 5.58 carats, removeable fittings, gold backed silver settings, to an associated gold curb link back chain with diamond and pink topaz cluster clasp, diamonds approximately 4.66 carats total, in an associated blue velvet case Size/dimensions: necklace 39cm long, principal topaz and diamond cluster 2.4cm long Gross weight: 31 gramsProvenance: By repute: the property of Lady Eleanor Catherine (Micklem) Wilberforce (1870 - 1956 ), wife of Sir Herbert William Wilberforce KBE CB CMG (1866-1950). Thence by family decent. Condition Report: The pink topaz are well matched in colour, some small nicks and nibbles to facet edges, the diamonds are very bright and lively, well matched, colour mostly H-J, clarity mostly VS-SI, the chain may not be original, but is period. The clasp is in good working order. The brooch fitting comes off and is easy to reattach. In the images the bale is on the wrong way, it has been turned in some condition images- which are labelled as so The box is not original, it doesn't fit quite properly. Condition Report Disclaimer
A PAIR OF DIAMOND SCROLLED EAR CLIPS The bow and foliate shaped panels set throughout with eight cut diamonds, approximately 0.70 carats total, with clip fittings, unmarked Size/dimensions: 2.5cm long Gross weight: 12.6 grams Condition Report: All diamonds present and correct, bright and lively, colour commercial white, H-J, but some variation, the clarity mostly VS-SI, the clips are well sprung. The settings are unmarked, but are in our opinion gold. One of the tips of the sprays above the looped sections is missing, there may have been some adaption to the bases of the settings where the clips are attached, the clips have been over rhodium plated. Späterer vergoldeter Weichholzrahmen H 39,4, B 29,3 cm.Das Hinterglasgemälde reproduziert seitenverkehrt das Mezzotinto des englischen Porträtmalers Thomas Frye (1710 - 1762), "Her Most Excellent Majesty Charlotte Queen of Great Britain." Diese Grafik, eines der bekanntesten Werke von Thomas Frye, entstand anlässlich der Krönung 1761, wurde von einer Vielzahl von Stechern kopiert und ein beliebtes Motiv für Souvenirs aller Art.1740 importierte Thomas Frye Kaolin aus der englischen Kolonie Virginia und gründete die Porzellanfabrik Bow, die er fast 20 Jahre leitete und wo er auch als Porzellanmaler arbeitete. A diamond rivière necklace, designed as a line of graduated round brilliant-cut diamonds in four claw settings, to a ribbon bow-shaped clasp of further brilliant, marquise and tapered baguette-cut diamonds, white precious metal mounted, length 39.5cmAccompanied by a Diamond Jewellery Report issued by AnchorCert, stating that the necklace is set with a total diamond weight of approximately 22.10ct, report no. 312248/20063648, dated 5 September 2023 Of relatively modern manufacture, with surface wear commensurate for occasional use. The rivière set round brilliant-cut diamonds graduate from approximately 2.87mm to 5.44mm in diameter and have a bright and lively appearance, some stones containing fracture and mineral inclusions, with some of these inclusions surface-reaching. The clasp set vari-cut diamonds are similarly bright and lively. Length of clasp panel 1.35cm, clasp currently functions. The necklace settings are articulated and the central largest setting has a reverse-mounted hinged pendant fitting, for the possible addition of a pendant drop. Metal standard is untested and the mount is not marked.
