A good Mid 17th Century English Gilt finished Dish Hilted Broadsword, 80.5cm blade incised in the short central fuller DERUNS, characteristic hilt composed of a dish with gadrooned decoration, extrusions from which support the quillons and knuckle bow all composed from slender rounded bars with faceted ovoids at the mid-points and terminals, characteristic elongated ovoid pommel with gadrooned decoration, wire bound grip with Turk's heads. Retains approximately 40% gilt finish.
