The piece has been repolished and subject to restoration. The new wax has warmed to take on colour, but there are areas of rubbing plus watermarks to the surface. The kickers or door stops have been replaced or re glued. The oak line drawers run well and are stable. Knocks, scuffs, surface scratches and marks consistent with age. Handles likley replaced but with repurposed period examples, through the sames holes - hand cut threads and nuts. Locks possibly orignal, key works for all, old scribe marks present.

Signs of exposure to humidity or moisture. The pages bow outwards along the center, lending itself to a puffy appearance. Binding is in good condition and there do not appear to be any loose pages.
