A Bow blue and white plate, c.1750, painted with the Broken Scroll pattern, the unfurled manuscript depicting flowering peony and bamboo, foliate sprays to the underside of the rim, painted numeral 15, 23.5cm. Paper label to the reverse stating a reference to the ECC Exhibition of 1948, no. 154. See also lot 253 for the Dublin delftware version of this pattern, which inspired by plates such as this.

PLEASE NOTE REVISED ESTIMATE A rare Bow high-footed sauceboat, c.1750, moulded in high relief with garlands of flowers and gilded with further sprays, the elaborate handle moulded with a female mask, 21.8cm across. Cf. Anton Gabszewicz and Geoffrey Freeman, Bow Porcelain, fig. 35 for a similar example without the female mask to the handle.
A COLLECTION FORMED BY PAUL STEVENS, ANCIENT INDIAN Gupta Empire, Kumaragupta I (414-455 AD), Gold Dinar, archer type, king standing nimbate left, holding bow in left hand, garuda standard in right field, rev goddess seated on lotus flower, right hand outstretched, symbol above, 8.23g (BMC 192-193). Extremely fine.

A late 19c pocket aneroid or mountain barometer registering inches of mercury from 23 to 32 and altitudes from 0 to 10,000ft. It has a silvered scale and is contained in a gilt metal case with watch type bow. It has its silk lined leather covered carrying case which measures 2.25""diam overall.

An early 20c pocket compass comprising a gilded circular brass hoop glazed front and back with a watch type bow. Within, the compass directions are painted on the inside and the gilt pointer has a lock within the stem of the bow. The degrees from 0 to 360 are marked on the silvered inner rim of the hoop. It has its leather carrying case 2"" in diam.

A violin with maker's stamp to back "Thurnam's Concert violin" with four fine tuners to the tailpiece and scroll decorated head, housed in a wooden coffin case CONDITION REPORTS Length of two piece back, excluding button, approx. 35.25 cm. Various chips and losses to edges, split where the scroll meets the neck, split along side of finger board, and also split to top of finger board, generally with wear, scuffs and knocks, some craqueleur to the varnish, however there do not appear to be any splits to the front or back of the body of the violin. Bow has some knocks, scuffs, tarnish/rusting, and some very slight mis-shaping. Sarcophagus shaped case quite worn and with some splits, damage and losses.
An early 20th Century mahogany bow fronted wardrobe compactum CONDITION REPORTS All over wear and tear. Some deep scratches amongst the various other scratches, marks, chips and losses. There is slight cracking to the central oval veneer. The backboard is missing in places. There are various chips to the drawer fronts, and some handles are missing. Central cupboard 'fascia' is not affixed properly and the lock is not present. The two central feet are missing. The glass is dirty, and has some dark grey marks in places. The compactum breaks down into the base, top and then three main sections. The piece as a whole is approximately 213cm high x 190 cm wide and 60 cm deep. The largest section is the central section and as an approximation as I have not taken it off the base the dimensions are circa 185 cm high x 76 cm wide and 60 cm deep.
