Lot 538

A George III period mahogany and rosewood crossbanded bow-fronted games table having fold-over baized top and raised on square tapering boxwood strung  legs, 84cm wide

Lot 430

A 19th Century gilt framed and glazed (probably late Regency period) floral embroidery onto black silk, various flowers emanating from a woven wicker work basket with a handle with bow to the top, frame size 52cm x 44cm The Auctioneer states that we think the whole of the embroidery is in silk. No there are no painted details – it is all embroidery. It is a fairly uniform background in real life although there is minor scuffing where the material meets the frame but it not prevalent. There is a crack through the frame in the 5 o clock position but in the Auctioneers opinion this could be filled and coloured out. Straightforward to repair. There is also another repair on the other side at the 7o clock position – possibly occurring when the frame was originally put together. Just a small suspension hook on the reverse at the top and a small area where the needlework is visible from the rear.

Lot 523

An early 19th century bow-fronted chest of small proportions, two half-width over three full-width graduated drawers and raised on turned feet (79cm wide) Dimensions: 79cm wide, 48cm at deepest point, 80cm highCondition: On the top there are a few small ink stains, an old cup ring mark and a dent that looks as though it has been filled in about a centimetre wide and approx 3 inches away from the lot number, please see images to corroborate report. The sides look pretty good with no evidence of splitting or problems; the return mouldings around the bottom look good as does the front bow-fronted moulding with only very minor scratches and scuffs noted to the turned feet commensurate with age. The back looks fairly good, darkened pine etc. and all of the handles look original, some with very very minor scratches. The front of the chest looks fairly good. It is noted that there is a small centimetre piece away from the bow-fronted moulding at the top in line with the bottom drawer handle. The drawers are oak-sided with dust beading and exhibit red-ochre stained pine bases the three full-width drawers have muntins. Overall, the Auctioneer reports a good general original condition, a nice piece, please see images etc.
