Lot 909

An early 19thC bow fronted twin pedestal mahogany sideboard, with panels to the frieze, on two pedestals set with acanthus and rope twist columns, the whole surmounted by a bird topped and acanthus leaf mirror back, terminating in hairy paw feet, 151cm high, 69cm deep, 110cm long. On initial inspection cavity columns on pedestals, later handles, come in four pieces. Missing carving appears to be large there and in drawers.

Related bronze sculptures of Manjushri from Nepal's Late Malla period include an example in the Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena (Pal, Asian Art At the Norton Simon Museum, vol.
