A 1920s French advertising automaton of a man drinking beer by Gustave Vichy (Vichy-Triboulet). Comprising a figure of a man of wood and plaster construction sitting on a stool wearing an Edwardian tailcoat, waistcoat and bow-tie and holding a mug and bottle of beer. Much of the wire and lever mechanism is present, however the outer case of the base is missing and the figure's legs are detached. Restoration and reconstruction is needed to many parts. £200-300

An early 18th century Italian 38 bore snaphaunce belt pistol, 19” overall, slender 2 stage barrel 13” with brass ring around the muzzle, octagonal breech with ribs along the angles and with small engraved crown over cylinder; foliate engraved lock having hand operated sliding pan cover; with nicely figured moulded fullstock and engraved brass mounts, comprising elaborately pierced sideplate, escutcheon and throat pipe finial, spurred butt cap with grotesque mask finial, trigger guard with pierced finial and grotesque mask on the bow, engraved trigger plate and baluster ramrod pipes; with 5” slender iron belt hook and wooden ramrod with baluster brass tip. Good Working Order and Condition (approximately 2½” of fore end replaced). Plate 29
A scarce “Bow Street Runners” 22 bore flintlock overcoat pocket pistol, by Tatham & Egg (1801-1814), 9½” overall, octagonal barrel 5¼” engraved “London”; plain flat stepped lock with safety bolt, signed “Tatham & Egg”; plain walnut fullstock with flat sided rounded butt and brass mounts, trigger guard with acorn finial and engraved on the bow “Bow Street” in script and numbered “1/3”; with a replacement ramrod. Good Working Order and Condition, (dark patina to lock, barrel very lightly pitted overall). Plate 31
A scarce .62” officer’s privately purchased Baker flintlock rifle, 46”, browned twist barrel 30”, London proved (stamped Gill on underside). Twin leaf rearsights, sharp rifling, bayonet bar on muzzle. Fullstocked, brass furniture, patch box engraved with strung bugle and Britannia shield centred trophy, buttcap tang and trigger guard bow both trophy engraved. Steel sling swivels and ramrod, chequered small and fore, carved cheekpiece, shield shaped silver escutcheon engraved with owner’s initials PHF. Good Working Order and Condition, barrel bore excellent (lock some steel parts restored). Plate 42
An 18 bore flintlock duelling pistol c 1785, 15” overall, octagonal barrel 10” with faint traces of name and “Strand, London”, with silver fore sight (worn) and rearsight on the false breech; the line engraved flat stepped lock signed “Radford” in script; the plain walnut fullstock having slightly flat sided butt, with steel mounts including engraved trigger guard with unusually large bow and pineapple finial. Basically GC (action requires attention, cock and ramrod replaced, slightly worn overall). Plate 7
A Roach mounted by J Cooper & Sons, in a naturalistic setting in a gilt lined bow fronted case, light blue background with legend card inscribed "Taken by Mr L Brown out of the River Colne, Single Hair, Sept. 1st 1853, Weight 2lbs. 2oz." and with applied Radnor St. trade label to top left corner. Height 29cm x width 48.5cm x depth 12.7cm.
