A CHINESE BRONZE FIGURE OF AN OFFICIAL MING DYNASTY He stands tall with his hands held before his chest, dressed in loose robes detailed at the edges with floral scrolls, the lower section of the garment embellished with strings of beads, his high-backed hat secured with a pin and a cord tied with a bow around his neck, with a content and serene expression on his well-defined face, 27.8cm, 1.3kg. Provenance: from a deceased estate, Hampshire, purchased from Gerard Hawthorn Ltd on 25th October 2005. A copy of the invoice is available.

No cracks to the glass panels, some play in the top of the rear leg joints, causing the legs to 'bow' in slightly.
A JAPANESE BUDDHIST SCROLL PAINTING, KAKEMONO EDO PERIOD OR EARLIER, 18TH CENTURY OR EARLIER In ink and colour on silk, depicting the six-armed Wisdom King Aizen Myo-o holding his various attributes including a vajra, a ghanta, a lotus bud and a bow and arrow, seated on an elaborate lotus throne raised on a kalasa vase, a large red orb enveloping the god and with Buddhist jewels scattered around him, 79cm x 36cm. A row of round mixed cut rubies claw set to another with two fern sprays and two arched wire stems, each terminating in a circular mixed cut ruby, with a pin and roller catch. An old European cut diamond, rub set to the centre, with graduated old Swiss cut diamonds, grain set throughout. An entwined hoop through the bow loops, damaged, rub set with graduated old European cushion cut, rose cut and old Swiss cut diamonds, with a plain pin and visor catch. All set in silver and backed in gold. Tested as silver and approximately 14ct gold. 71 x 35mm, 14.14gCondition report: Six diamonds deficient.One loose diamond supplied.The hoop has become unmounted and is loose in the bow loops.
