Antique Steiner doll ; Jules Steiner Paris, 17” Baby Gigoteur, kicking,crying and arm lifting Head turning mechanism; Working model. The doll has a key wind mechanism and a metal lever to depress to activate the functions-The crying bellows still work . Fine bisque he’d with porcelain 2 rows of teeth, paperweight blue eyes. And a skin hair wig on its solid dome head. Good doll and the condition report is observed as follows. The bisque head is near a flat neck socket floating head, attached within to allow side turns with the gigoteur mechanism.( no repairs , right eye socket is revealing some original inner socket original plaster in the inner corner, teeth are all complete within the mouth with all porcelain teeth, cupids bow highlighted painted lips , slight chip sliver to left ear around the piercing , other ear has earring, slight neck rim sliver on edge, wig is on leather lamb skin base with what appears to be cropped sheepskin, small scratch or distortion to the paint on the brow strokes, some repair of old to fingers , carton box body armature is original and has kid over metal hinged legs/ leg links , original key and original metal press down mechanism, made 1885-90 era of production. The doll has a petticoat and lingerie, knitted bootees and a rose silk dress and bonnet which appear to be later from 1920s era. Soft delicate french complexion and a delight in that all dolls mechanism work .( Bisque head antique 19thC doll and clothes as detailed) These dolls were often retailer through the prestigious doll shop Au Nain Blue , in Paris.

An early Bow oblong dish, c.1753, of elongated octagonal form, painted with a long-tailed bird in flight above flowering peony branches and holey blue rockwork, the cavetto with a gilt scroll border, the rim with a panelled green trellis border, 27.4cm.Provenance: the David Stopher Collection.Cf. Three Bow blue and white baskets, c.1755-65, of circular form, the earliest painted with bamboo, peony and millet, the other two of varying size and painted to the interior with flowering branches, the exteriors with flowerhead motifs, some damages, 17.3cm max. (3)Provenance: the David Stopher Collection. The two smaller baskets formerly in the collection of Susi and Ian Sutherland.
Two Bow blue and white plates c.1758-62, the larger painted with bamboo and chrysanthemum, number 16 mark, the other with a fan-panelled design on a powder blue ground, pseudo Chinese mark, and a Bow strap-moulded sauceboat painted with flower sprays within moulded floral panels, impressed T mark, 22.5cm max. Three English porcelain slop bowls, c.1758-65, two Liverpool and painted with varying flower arrangements including a large pink rose, the interior rims with gilt and red borders, and a lobed Bow bowl painted in the famille rose palette with a bird perched on a peony branch, another in flight to the reverse, the latter cracked, 15.5cm max. An unusual Derby figure of the Abyssinian Archer, c.1765, wearing a long flowered robe and holding a clutch of short arrows in his right hand, a quiver and bow slung behind his back, raised on a low scrolled base applied with flowers and leaves, minor losses and restoration, 28.2cm.This figure and its companion are usually depicted with the dark skin more commonly associated with Abyssinia.

Lot consists of a boxed Hornby Dublo EDL2 Duchess Class 4-6-2 Op.No 6231 'Duchess of Atholl' in LMS maroon - appears Good - in Fair Plus bow; together with two unboxed locomotives being a Class 8F 2-8-0 Op.No. 48158 with tender in BR black (with unassociated box) plus an EDL17 Class N2 0-6-2T Op.No 69567 in BR black (no coal) - the later two appear Fair - Fair Plus with age wear.
