Julio Fernandez - Lladro - Little Maurice Lladro - A retro vintage Lladro made 1970s porcelain planter vase jardiniere in the form of a young boy's head. Stylistic in form with expressional features wearing straw hat with flower to head, dress shirt and bow tie. Lladro stamp to underside. Measures approx. 30cm x 24cm.
dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Shinogi Zukuri Iorimune blade; Nagasa (length: 70.5 cm); Hada: Nashiji with Ji Nie; Hamon: Gunome Midare Nie Deki Kinsuji Sunagashi; Kissaki: Chu Kissaki; Boshi: Suguha Ko Maru Kaeri Yoru; Habaki of gilded and engraved silver. Nakago Ubu Hiriyama Gata; Yasurime: Sujikai. Mainly on one side areas with holes and seriously damaged on the surface (largely recoverable by appropriate polishing). Important Koshirae with beautiful iron tsuba richly pierced and carved with katana, kabuto, do and other partially gilded parts of the armour. Fuchi-Kashira finely decorated with floral motifs of various metals on a matt granulated background. Rare very long menuki (8.7 cm) representing a bow with partially gilded quivers. Tsuka of considerable length. Remarkable saya with very elegant horizontal band pattern; koiguchi (very small missing part) and black horn kurigata; kojiri of gilded metal decorated with granulate. length 97.2 cm.
dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, The bow is made of red and black-lacquered wood with vegetable fibre bands. Pierced leather quiver with a Inome and gold mon on a black background, on one side a shaft with opening for the belt hook and lacing which holds the arrows. These made of lacquered wood complete with feathers and iron tips (small damage and missing parts). Fine ensemble. Late Edo period. length bow 156 cm.

Condition Report: Wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per age, handling, use, and cleaning. Lacking some small elements- lyre to bottom left corner, main bow, lower section of arrow/sword to centaur's left hand. Overall fairly greenish areas of surface interspersed with darker patination. Small areas such as Achilles face with possible later repatination. The surface slightly rough in areas and drapery section which had lyre on it loose/partially fixed to base.
