W & S.R A pair of flint lock brass mounted pistols With octagonal sighted barrels each stamped ‘W & S.R’. Engraved tangs and flat bevelled locks, semi rainproof pans and each with engraved safety catch and roller. The stocks with rounded butts, trigger guard each with pineapple- shaped final and engraved with a shield centred on foliage on bow, slotted turned ramrod pipes and original horn tipped ramrods. Birmingham proof marks.
Samuel Nock A cased pair of 18-bore percussion travelling pistols, circa 1840, with twist octagonal sighted barrels each retaining much original browning along the bottom flats, case-hardened breeches each signed on the top flat and with a slender line of engraving at the rear, pierced platinum plugs, foliate scroll engraved tangs each with back-sight, signed flat locks each decorated with scrolling foliage involving a scaled monster, engraved safety-catches, foliate engraved dolphin hammers, figured full stocks with chequered rounded butts, steel trigger-guards each with pineapple finial and foliate scrollwork on the bow, slotted ramrod-pipes, and original horn-tipped ramrods under a threaded brass cap : in original lined and fitted mahogany case with some accessories, the interior of the lid with maker's trade label, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon engraved with owner's crest, London proof marks.

A large late 19th century French porcelain figure of Cupid, an English bone china 'cherub' vase and a similar sweetmeat dish, tallest 37cmCONDITION: Cherub with areas of professional restoration to both wings, some degree of restoration also around neck, shoulders, upper part of bow and around chest area. Figural centrepiece - front of one shell professionally restored but not affecting foliage; minor chips and one leaf from foliage lacking. Standing youth figure - good.
A rare 19th century Eskimo-Aleut nephrite and wood mouthpiece for a bow drill, 9cm and a carved walrus ivory fish lure, 6.2cm, shaped as a fish with horn hook and coral bead pendant,CONDITION: Provenance - T. Gerrard & Co Ltd, Pentonville Road, preparators, technicians and modellers of London were involved, amongst other things, in biology, osteology and entomology. Possibly collected by Edward Gerrard (1810-1910) of E. The gand cross features gilded bronze and enameled construction with original sash made of fine moiré silk and ribbon bow. The breast star features gilded silver and enameled craftsmanship. Reverse features pin hardware. Included is the award document to general Ettore Bastico and is dated 18 June 1938. With the original signature of the Spanish Minister of defense..Rare ensemble from the estate of Marshal Bastico.

An schöner, genähter Damenschleife. Das vorderseitige Medaillon dreiteilig gearbeitet mit separat aufgelegter Chiffre. Der Lorbeer-Eichenkranz zwischen den Kreuzarmen fein ziseliert. In der Öse Herstellermarke des Wiener Hofjuweliers Rothe sowie österreichische Goldpunzierung (Gamskopf).Abmessungen 39 x 34 mm. Derartige Sonderformen von Ehrenzeichen wurden innerhalb regierender Häuser meist informell verliehen und waren zumeist auf einen kleinen Kreis von wenigen Trägerinnen, bzw. Trägern begrenzt. Einmaliges Stück und mit Sicherheit eine der größten Seltenheiten unter den sächsischen Ehrenzeichen. Als bedeutendes und herausragendes Exemplar einer der ersten speziell für Verdienste um die freiwille Krankenpflege gestifteten Auszeichnungen ein besonders aussagekräftiges und wichtiges Stück von musealer Bedeutung. Merit Cross for Voluntary Nurses 1870/1871 presented to Queen Amalie Auguste (1854-1873), Wive of King Johanns of Saxony. This cross for the queen is an oversized version and features gold and enamel craftsmanship. Cross comes with beautiful sewn ladies bow. The obverse medallion consists of three parts and a separately applied cypher. The laurel/oak leaf wreath between the arms of the cross is finely chased. The suspension ring features the manufacturer's mark of the Viennese court jeweller Rothe as well as the Austrian gold hallmark (Goat Head). Dimensions 39 x 34 mm. Such special versions of this decoration were usually awarded informally within governing houses and were usually limited to a small circle of recipients. Unique piece and certainly one of the greatest rarities among the Saxon decorations. As an important and meaningful example, this specimen is one of the first awards to recognize volunteer nursing. A particularly meaningful and important piece and worthy of a museum.
