Norman Buckle. Circa, 12th-13th century AD. Copper-alloy, 13.86 g, 35.14 mm. An impressive Romanesque zoomorphic buckle. Formed of a wide D-shaped bow detailed in open-work and three stylised lion type animals moulded in relief. Ref: Zarnecki, Holt and Holland, English Romanesque Art 1066-1200.
Anglo-Saxon Brooch. Circa 6th-7th century AD. Copper-alloy, 61mm x 29mm, 17.7g. A cruciform type brooch formed of a square head with waisted semi-circular knobs on three sides, a faceted bow and expanding footplate. Both the upper and lower parts of the brooch are decorated with punched annulets.
