FLY BOXES (7): A collection of Wheatley fly boxes plus an Orkney patent alloy box 8" x4" with ribbed interior, an early Allcock`s 12 window dry fly box by Wheatley with flies ands Amadou to lid, an early swing leaf tin bow with flies, a clip and felt/cork lined box, a mid size felt lined box and a pair of small pocket boxes, one dry fly one clip with flies.
CASED FISH: Pike: A fine preserved Pike by Cooper of London in bow fronted glazed case 47" x17" x9", fully reeded against green aqua backboard, Cooper paper label to inside top left, gravel base, gilt lined and text reads "Pike, caught in the River Teme at Barrington by Mr A. H. Walley 25th August 1936", superb specimen, actual fish measuring 39" long.
A rare and important Chinese export punch bowl for the Royal Company of Archers, Edinburgh, the exterior painted with panels of The Crown above a bow, quiver, arrow tied together with a rope beneath a border of thistle, roses and the crown, the foot rim with gilt chain and arrow pattern, the underside foot with The Spens Crest and Motto `Si Deus Quis Contra` (If God is with us) above the monogram `JS` for James Spens, the interior with blue and gilt band, arrow and dot pattern above a floral bouquet (two hairline cracks) circa 1800, 30.5cm diameter. The Royal Company of Archers were founded in 1676 as a private archery club. Since 1822 the company has performed the role of sovereign body guards in Scotland. Amongst the competitions and traditions The King`s Prize was, together with The Royal (Queen`s) Prize of the Goose, The Edinburgh Arrow and The Silver Punch Bowl and ladle were fought for amongst the members.. It was The King`s Prize Prize that James Spens (1797-1870) won in 1804. Not only did he win this bowl, it was part of a set of three bowls, this one being the smaller of the set. To this day the Royal Company of Archers still process the other two bowls in their collection. Notable members of The Company were Sir Walter Scott and Sir Henry Raeburn

This vessel was ordered on 6th June 1759 and laid down in July at Chatham, launched 6 years later in May 1765, then laid-up in ordinary for 13 years until commissioned under Captain John Lindsay in March 1778 to defend the American Colony against French intervention in the War of Independence.
