6th century AD. A small bronze bow brooch with D-shaped head and five radiating knops, shallow bow, lozengiform footplate with lateral knops and animal-head finial; pin-lugs, pin and catchplate to the reverse. 8.05 grams, 46mm (1 3/4"). UK art market, acquired prior to 1980. Cf. Hattatt, R. Brooches of Antiquity, Oxford, 1987, item 1319. Fine condition.
9th-12th century AD. A pair of bronze brooches comprising: one penannular with raised square terminals, round-section pin coiled around the shank; one a bow-brooch with spring and chord, deep square-section bow with punched detail to one face, integral catchplate to the reverse of the footplate. 40 grams total, 48-66mm (2 - 2 1/2"). From an old Munich collection; acquired on the German art market before 2000. [2, No Reserve] Fine condition.

A mixed group of items comprising: two bronze hooks, each formed as five cobras in parallel with double loop finial; an inlaid dagger scabbard; a spherical bronze weight with loop; a vessel cap formed as a ropework peacock; a carved stone seal matrix; a flat-section bronze ring with script to the rectangular bezel; an annular pendant of shell(?) with thong; a square-section carnelian seal matrix with zoomorphs; a skull appliqué; a penannular brass handle; a florid bronze handle fragment; a key with scrolled bow; a penannular bracelet with scrolled finials; a square brass plaque with grid and incised texts. 617 grams total, 1.5-20cm (1/2 - 8"). Property of a London collector; previously in an old collection, acquired between 1980-late 1990s. [15, No Reserve] Fair condition.
An Edwardian mahogany inlaid and painted display cabinet, the central bow front glazed and part panelled door flanked by similar side panels, single drawer, and raised on cabriole legs united by an under tier, width approx 135cm. CONDITION REPORT: Overall good condition (see additional images).
