LORD LOUIS MOUNTBATTEN: A collection of Royal Navy items related to Lord Mountbatten, including a large collection of HMS Wishart 'Daily News' from the World War Two destroyer ship, from it's commission through March 1936 to September 1936, during Mountbatten's commission as commanding officer. Entries on the paperwork include 'Today's Amusements' and 'Press News.' Some detailing HMS Wishart's roles for the day, and procedures, message received from other battleships etc. Along with a 'Commission Of HM Ships 'Daring' and 'Wishart' document book, filled with information on the ships and events surrounding them. Also included in this lot is a silk flag / scarf / tabbard gifted by Mountbatten to the vendor's father depicting 'Life On The Ocean Wave' with blue borders and silk picture of a young lad on a ships bow. With provenance in the form of a photograph of Mountbatten with the vendor's father, and will be included with this lot. HMS Wishart (D67) was a Modified W-class destroyer of the British Royal Navy that saw service in World War II. She spent most of her wartime career based at Gibraltar, engaged in convoy defence, but also served in various naval and military operations in the Mediterranean Sea.

A Dutch mahogany and marquetry metamorphic armchair/daybed:, inlaid with floral sprays and trailing foliage, the arched button upholstered back surmounted by a carved ribbon bow and urn medallion, the bowed sides continuing into outswept arms with knob handles and on cabriole legs with pad feet.
