RARE Victorian Hand Painted Syroco Jar in form of a Cat in Top Hat. Detailed modeling of his fur, top hat with feather, dickie bow and hand painted. Syroco was a mixture of wood pulp and fillers modeled to look like hand carved wood. The Syroco company opened in the 1890s and operated until the mid-20th century. Measures 19cm in hieght and 13cm across the base. The cat is in very nice antique condition, with just some surface paint rubs and chips in the expected areas.
