Marcel-Andre Bouraine (French 1886-1948). A French Art Deco bronze model of Penthesilia Queen of the Amazons, lying firing her bow, signed 'Bouraine' and 'Susses Fre Edts Paris', 'cire perdure' with the Susse Freres foundry pastille, 29cm high, 45.2cm wide. An Empire ormolu mantel clock by Claude Galle, the eight day brass cased drum movement with an outside countwheel, striking on a bell, with silk suspension, the circular enamel dial with Roman numerals and signed 'Galle Rue Vivienne No. 9', the case surmounted with Apollo with his lyre, bow and quiver of arrows seated beside a flaming urn, the dial surround decorated with a snake, insects and lyres above a relief tablet depicting Apollo and Daphne, on lion's paw feet, 53.7cm high, 38.8cm wide. Provenance: The Collection of Sir Jeremy Lever.
An Edwardian country house carved and painted dapple grey see-saw rocking horse in the manner of G & J Lines, with a leather saddle and reins, with glass eyes, the stirrups stamped 'MADE IN ENGLAND NEVER RUST', the bow base with a child's captain's chair to either end, 108cm high, 240.5cm long.
India, British India, Victoria (1837-1901). Silver ¼-Rupee Mule, 1840, divided legend, WW on truncation, Rev. dot after date, serif on 4, crescent on bow, 2.92g (Pridmore 108; SW 3.55). Lightly cleaned, good Extremely Fine. A mule from the Obverse 2 series with the reverse of the obverse 1 series.
Cilicia, Tarsos. Datames. Silver Stater (10.44 g), Satrap of Cilicia and Cappadocia, 384-361/0 BC. Struck ca. 375 BC. Baaltars seated right, holding grain ear, grapes, and eagle-tipped scepter; below throne, bucranium; all within crenelated wall. Rev. Satrap, wearing Persian dress, seated right, holding arrow; in upper right field, winged solar disk; before legs, bow. SNG BN 286-8; SNG Levante 88. A wonderful strike on both sides with full borders well defined. A splendid example, quite rare in such high grade. Lightly toned. Superb Extremely Fine.

Laureate head of Philetarios right. ?I?ETAIPOY, Athena enthroned left, left elbow resting on shield to right, crowing dynastic name with wreath held in her extended right hand; spear diagonally in background, ivy leaf on left edge, A monogram to inner left field, bow to reight. SNG France 612; SNG Copenhagen 335; SNG von Aulock 1356-7. Wonderful high relief style and perfectly centered. Even natural greyish tone. Extremely Fine.

Kingdom of Macedon, Philip II, Gold Quarter Stater (2.13 g, 11h), 356-336 BC. Mint of Pella, c. 340-328 B.C. Head of young Herakles facing right, wearing a lion’s skin headdress. Rev. ?I?I??OY, a bow and a club to left above, a trident-head to right below (Le Rider 80-1; SNG Alpha Bank 256). In an exceptional state of preservation for this issue, lustrous and mint state.

India, EIC, Bengal Presidency. Silver Pattern ½-Rupee, in the name of Shah Alam II, Pulta Mint [Princep’s Coinage] AH 1198, year 26, edge dot and arrow repeated, 5.76g (Pridmore 348, though not traced at the time of publication; Pridmore Sale, lot 675, this coin; Stevens 2017, 3.3). Extremely Fine and of the highest rarity. Ex David Fore Collection, Baldwin’s Auction 82, 31 May 2013, lot 891. Ex Pridmore Sale, Glendinings 1981, lot 675. Entrepreneur John Princeps secured copper mining rights in Bihar and a coining contract to mint copper currency for the EIC. Authorities in London strongly objected that any individual should have been awarded these rights and put extreme pressure on John Princeps to resign his contracts. Princeps refused to bow to the pressure but was persuaded by a large sum of money instead. After receiving his compensation he applied to work as mint master for the Calcutta Mint even without a salary, this time to provide the company with gold and silver coinage. His application was refused but the present coin is the exceptionally rare ½-Rupee from the series of silver patterns he produced to demonstrate his credentials while applying for that position. It was presumably acquired by Fred Pridmore after his books were published but before his collection was sold.

A-?O-?, Double stellate pattern within double linear square border; below bow; all within linear circle. Maier 7; SNG Copenhagen __; Traite IV 280. Rare variety. Excellent metal. Some areas of striking flatness. Lightly toned. Very Fine.
Seleukid Kingdom. Seleukos III Soter. Silver Tetradrachm (16.77 g), 226-223 BC. Uncertain mint in northern Syria or Mesopotamia. Diademed head of Seleukos III right. Reverse: BA?I?E?? ?E?EYKOY, Apollo seated left on omphalos, testing arrow and resting hand on grounded bow; monograms in outer left and right fields. SC 932.1. HGC 9, 414f (R2). Very Rare. Struck from an obverse die of highly distinctive style. NGC grade XF; Strike: 4/5, Surface: 4/5.
