A Belle Époque peridot, ruby and seed pearl necklace with back chain,designed as a flounced ribbon bow set all along with graduated half seed pearls and suspending a hoop of similar uniform seed pearls, an inner smaller hoop of round cut rubies and at the centre a claw set oval cut peridot, to a fetter link back chain, clasp stamped '15c', and the principal feature tested as approximately 15ct gold. Length of ribbon and hoop centrepiece 40mm, length of necklace 390mm, period case. 10.05gCondition ReportAll stones and pearls present. The colour and lustre of the seed pearls is variable. The rubies are well-matched. The peridot has a loupe visible chip at the bottom claw but no other notable scratches or abrasions. The chain is slightly tarnished, but all links supple, and clasp in working order.
