LARGE MODEL OF H.M.S VICTORY a late 19thc or early 20thc wooden model of HMS Victory, the model is shown in her mid 19thc appearance with black and white paintwork and a built up bow. Complete with rigging, canons, anchor etc, approx 150cms long, 134cms high *This model was donated to a museum in 1986, it is possible this model was made for or by a family connected with the Royal Navy or one of it's dockyards.

First World War family grouping to include, Order of the Royal Red Cross 2nd Class, bow mounted, in fitted case by Garrard & Co, 1914-1918 British War Medal and Victory Medal (210446. SPR. E. BEVAN. R.E.) with named box of issue,1914-1918 British War Medal (M.9635 S.H. BEVAN S.R.A. R.N.), with named box of issue, the Royal Red Cross belonged to Miss Edith Bevan, Supplement to the London Gazette dated 9th April 1919 reads, 'Awarded RRC 2nd Class Miss Edith Bevan V.A.D. Nurse, Fulham Military Hospital, St. Dunstans Road, Hammersmith', Edith Bevan was born in 1881 in Cheshire where her father was a Railway Station Master, she had two sisters, Evelyn and Annie, and two brothers, Edgar and Sidney, both of whom became Railway Clerks, Evelyn trained as a nurse at the Fulham Infirmary between 1911 and 1914, when the First World War broke out the Fulham Infirmary began taking in soldiers wounded during the First Battle of Ypres and in 1915 the War Office took over both the Infirmary and Fulham Workhouse and they became the Fulham Military Hospital with nearly 1000 beds, perhaps inspired by Evelyn, Edith joined the Voluntary Aid Detachment at Fulham Military Hospital where she trained as a nurse between 1917 and 1920 earning the RRC 2nd Class in the process, after the war both sisters appear to have continued working together as nurses, in 1925 being shown at the Hospital, 37 Riverley Road, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, also included is a bronze medallion with on the obverse a woman cradling a child and the inscription 'Fulham Infirmary, Famam Extendere Factis' (Extend Reputation Through Deeds), to the reverse is engraved 'Evelyn Bevan Sept. 1914', a bronze 'Massage' clasp (trained in physiotherapy), a photograph of Edith Bevan wearing a Fulham Infirmary medallion with clasp, held in a round silver frame, Birmingham, date letter rubbed, maker T. H. Hazlewood & Co. diameter 6.5 cm, a fibre Identity Disc marked 'S.H. BEVAN, A.S.B.S. M963* C.E.', on the reverse of the disc, written in ink, is 'Home Address (illegible), S.H. BEVAN, R.N. Ambulance Train No.1', a necklace or bracelet pendant in white metal with the the letter 'E' in a circlet (unknown if this belonged to Edith or Evelyn), a medal commemorating the end of The Great War, a George V Coronation commemorative medal, a 'Juvenile Forester' ribbon, a letter to 'Sister Bevan' dated 30/11/37 commiserating on the death of her father, a card from the Fulham Infirmary, Hammersmith, written in red ink and dated August 1915 it reads 'In letters of blood!!!, To Sister Bevan as a token of our undiminished affection & esteem which has stood the test of ages xxxx, The Sign of Four' the card is accompanied by some photographs of staff and patients at the Fulham Military Hospital one of whom may be Evelyn Bevan but family was unable to identify, a copy of the book 'My England' by the Labour Member of Parliament George Lansbury with the following sentiment written inside, 'To Miss Bevan, as a tiny acknowledgement of her uniform kindness during my x ray examinations at Manor House Hospital during 1934 with best wishes for xmas & new year' signed by George Lansbury and dated Dec 1934, records show 210466 Sapper Edgar Bevan of the Royal Engineers (Railways) entitled to the BWM and Victory Medal, he also had the service number WR261814, and M/9635 Senior Reserve Attendant Sydney Harold Bevan entitled to the 1914-1918 British War Medal, grouping direct from family

A set of four late 19th Century Victorian beech and elm smokers bow chairs / armchairs. Each arm chair having a spindle back with shaped arm rests and elm saddle seat raised on turned legs united by a single stretcher. Each chair bearing impressed marks. Wear commensurate with age, overall good condition, one chair with the arms slightly shorted end and the end. Each armchair measures approx; 81cm x 63cm x 57cm.
An early 19th Century William IV rosewood firescreen in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster. The firescreen having a carved ornate acanthus leaf scroll top with inset tapestry screen above a folding shelf all raised on carved bow form legs united by turned baluster column. Measures approx; 94cm x 57cm x 42cm.

The bedsides in the manner of a George III example having three drawers with each having drop brass handles and pierced backplates. Each raised on cabriole supports. A mid 19th century Japanese Arita blue and white porcelain beaker cup depicting a bow wielding warrior and a maiden with poems. In the Chinese Kangxi manner. Six character marks to the underside. Measures approx 9cm tall with a 9cm diameter. No visible signs of any major damage. Marks pertain to a Zoshuntei Sanpo Zu "Zoshun (shop) Sanpo Made (made by Sanpo) - a fictitious trade name of Hisatomi Yojibei Masayasu.

The sword with a 60cm curved fullered flat backed blade with pointed end, double edged to the last 22cm with a shagreen covered grip (partially remaining) within a single bow guard with stepped oval pommel and quillon, with push button scabbard release, Marked HC 151. The leather scabbard with brass mounts, 75cm overall. With a French bayonet lacking scabbard.
AN 1803 REGULATION LIGHT COMPANY INFANTRY SABRE AND SCABBARD. With an 82cm curved partially fullered blade with a pointed end by Runckle of Solingen. Partially blued and gilt with Royal coat of arms, crown and GR cypher, marked Runckle, Solingen to the back. The nuckle bow with a slung bugle above crown and GR cypher, with wire bound leather grip and lion's head pommel, the leather and gilt scabbard with impressed decoration, the top mount engraved 'Bennett 67 Royal Exchange'. 99cm overall.

A Court sword with a 82cm three edged blade with engraved foliage and military trophies, with an oval bright steel hand guard with pierced decoration, the handle and bow with cut-steel 'jewel' decoration, with steel mounted leather scabbard with twin ring suspension. 99.5cm overall.
A 1786 PATTERN INFANTRY SERGEANTS SWORD AND SCABBARD. With an 83cm straight pointed and fullered blade, the ricasso stamped with a crowned shield, the hilt with double shell guard with single bow to the pommel, with a short eight sided quillon, with matching pommel. With a non-matching steel scabbard stamped for Wilkinbson of Pall Mall c1900, 107cm overall.
A PRESENTATION 1796 LIGHT CAVALRY SABRE. With an 81cm curved undecorated blade with double edged pointed tip pointed and pronounced 'Yelman', with pointed langlets, stirrup bow and wire bound ebony handle. Probably a Sergeant's special variant. With a Kilij type steel scabbard with twin ring suspension and engraved presentation inscription 'Presented to Serjt Mator W.Rreatt R.H.A. Rty by his Commanding Officer 18_5'. 94cm overall length. William Breatt was born in Nuneaton in 1787 rising from Private to Serjeant Major in the Royal Horse Artillery, attesting for service in 1805 at the age of 18. He was discharged on the 31st May 1835 due to chronic rheumatism and defficiency of respiration. Sold with copied research.
