A Meissen 'Cries of London' group of a peasant woman and children circa 1760 the decoration probably later modelled by J.J.KÅ ndler and P. Reinicke, probably later decorated, striding across the treestump base, holding the hand of a child beside her and with another carried in the striped shawl across her shoulders, wearing a ragged green underskirt, purple overskirts, striped bodice and a white headscarf tied under her chin with a black bow, the base moulded with scrolls heightened in gilding and applied with leaves and flowers crossed swords in underglaze-blue 15.2cm., 6in. haircrack to base, tiny chips, wear to gilding This group was modelled in 1754 based on an engraving by Pierce Tempest (1650-1717) after drawings by Marcellus Laroon the Elder (London, 1711); a similar group is illustrated by M.Eberle, Cris de Paris, Meissen Porcelain Figurines of the 18th Century, no.16.

A Bow model of a bird circa 1760 with brightly coloured plumage, perched on a floral encrusted treestump unmarked 15cm., 5Pin. restored Despite the colourful decoration on this model, the bird is probably based on a kestrel. A similar pair of models was sold at Sotheby's London, 26th February 1985 lot 132.
The Coronation dress of Dr. John Dodson, one of the Barons chosen to carry the canopy over King George IV at his Coronation 1821, (Britain's most extravagant Coronation). The doublet, breeches and sur coat is of Jacobean style in red and blue silk with red stockings (the white shoes and black bonnet are not present). Very Good Condition (shoulder bow tassels shortened on one side, minor wear and damage, a few small holes to stockings). Note: Doctor John Dodson (1780-1858), 1819-1823 Tory MP for Rye, appointed by the Duke of Wellington to the Office of Advocate to the Admiralty Court. Advocate General in 1834 and Knighted at St James's Palace in the same year, became Master of Faculties in 1841 and Vicar General in 1849. Judge of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury 1852 and Dean of Arches Court until his death. His only son, John George Dodson, was elected MP for East Sussex in 1857 and created Lord Monk Bretton in 1884.
A good pair of 11.4mm Belgian percussion target pistols, 16 3/4", blued fluted octagonal barrels 10" to colour hardened false breeches engraved 1 and 2 respectively, Liege provisional proof marks for rifled arms. Walnut halfstocks carved with vine leaves, fluted grips. Adjustable rearsights, detented actions. Colour hardened locks and furniture, engraved with vine leaves, the buttcaps carved in relief en-suite. Very Good Working Order and Condition and retaining most of their original finish (one trigger guard bow cracked at root). Contained in their faded green felt lined close fitted rosewood veneered case with accessories including copper flask, hardened bullet mould, rosewood handled turnscrew, nipple key and powder measure etc. Good Condition (brass stringing inlaid in lid slightly raised)
