A beautiful Silver backed dressing table vanity set comprising a bevelled hand mirror and a pair of natural bristle brushes, the backs having deep relief depictions of symbolism with flower blooms and scrolling foliage amidst which is a dog pursuing a bird, a Cherub grasping at a Squirrel, a wise Owl with spread wings, Eros with his bow and arrow and each handle terminating with a fearsome gargoyle. London, the brushes 1897, the mirror 1898, makers "W.C., J.L.". Believed for Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, William Gibson and John Lawrence Langman of Regent Street.
