Missing Link: A pair of Nike Air Max 'Susan' x Missing Link trainers,Nike / United Artists, 2019,the fabric, leather, and rubber, size 6 trainers with gingham accents, attached bow, and cork insoles, owned by Emma Thompson following her role as 'Dora the Yeti Elder' (the paranoid, secretive leader of the Yetis) in the stop-motion animated film, in shoe bag and accompanied by a notecard regarding the provenance from Emma ThompsonFootnotes:'Mr. Link', the protagonist of the film, Missing Link, is the inspiration behind this collaboration between Nike and the animation studio. The Missing Link x Nike Air Max Susan, designed by Nike VP of Advanced Concepts, Tinker Hatfield, and former animator Michael Berger, translates the materials and textures of 'Mr. Link's' plaid suit, created by LAIKA costume designer Deborah Cook, to a Nike Air Max 1. Now sold out at Nike. A French stained beech, decorated and gilt metal mounted vitrine:, of double bow-fronted outline with applied foliate bandings, having a shaped pediment and a moulded cornice, the plush lined interior with three shelves enclosed by a pair of glazed panel doors, with panels below, painted in the Vernis Martin manner with male and female figures in garden arbours and landscapes, on cabriole legs, terminating in sabots, 120cm (3ft 11in) wide, 196cm (6ft 5in) high.
A Bow figure of Matrimony: in the form of a lady holding a lantern-style birdcage, wearing a pink bodice and skirt painted with contrasting floral sprays, on tree stump mound base applied with a flowerhead and foliage, circa 1760-65, 18cm high [small restorations].*Notes Cf. A rare and interesting 18th century English porcelain saucer probably Bow or Isleworth of neatly potted form. Decorated in underglaze blue with an unrecorded river landscape print incorporating trees, a folly, a small sailboat and a village with church spire in the distance under a painted dot and cross hatch border c.1760, 11.5cm diameter. Y shaped hair crack across the foot rim. Fritting and rim chips. No repair.
A pair of 19th century Burmese carved hardwood figural corbels / wall brackets. Each formed as a demon on a ground of open scrollwork supporting a trefoil bow front shelf, 38cm wide, 18cm deep, 35cm high. Provenance; purported as Thoresby Hall, Nottinghamshire, property of the late Lady Rozelle Raynes, inventory number painted to the back of one. Overall very good. Some slight losses to the scroll work.
An Edwardian articulated white metal, cabochon emerald and diamond set teardrop shaped drop brooch, with ribbon bow crest, overall 38mm, gross 8.3 grams.CONDITION: Two of the bottom rails on the back of two of the articulating sections are bent slightly. One tiny stone missing from the bow section. The surface of the emerald has a few small chips/cracks and scratches in general.
