A double barrelled 14 bore percussion sporting gun by Saml & C Smith, London, 44” overall, twist barrels 28”, raised top rib engraved in copper plate script “Saml & C. Smith, Princes Street, Leicester Square, London”; signed flat locks engraved with line borders and scrolls, flat hammers scroll engraved and having patent hammer noses; walnut halfstock having silver barrel wedge plates and escutcheon, and steel mounts including large trigger guard with grip safety , bow deeply engraved with scrolls inhabited by a game bird, butt plate tang engraved with scrolls and serial number 3730; with original brass mounted ebony ramrod. Good Working Order and Condition (barrels lightly worn and rebrowned, small filled repairs to fore end). Plate 28
A hardwood bow, possibly African, the binding and bow string of thin twisted strips of hide, span 55”, basically GC (slightly split and bound with cord); and a wooden walking stick carved with an entwined cobra and carved (probably later) with palm tree and swastika badge of the Afrika Korps and “Afrika 42”, 36” overall.
