A lady's open face enamel fob watch, the 21mm white enamel dial having arabic numerals, the 27mm outer case having a pearl set bezel to front and back, the back cover decorated in blue enamel having a central vignette of lovers, case marked "Argent" top wind movement, the watch is suspended from a blue enamel bow brooch.

A bronze fitting in the form of an actor's mask of the goddess Venus (Greek Aphrodite); hair pulled up to the top of the head in a bow and tied with a hair band, corkscrew curls falling to either side of the face; eyes recessed for inlay, mouth open. 222 grams, 80mm (3"). From the collection of a European gentleman living in South London; acquired 1970-1980. Very fine condition.
1st-2nd century AD. A water-worn marble statue of Eros (Greek Cupid) standing on an integral rectangular plinth; a winged figure with soft, boyish body, right hand resting on hip, left hand covering the crotch, leaning against a tree stump; to the right of the stump a bow, to the left a quiver. 6.8 kg, 39cm (15 1/4"). Property of a lady living in Kent, UK; formerly part of her grandfather's collection; acquired in Germany after WWII; thence by descent 2006. Fair condition, head re-attached.

A matched pair of East Roman gold earrings each a large piriform cell with inset green glass cloison, border and bow of graduated granules, drum-shaped element with repoussé ribbing and three lines of filigree and granules converging to a large granule finial; ornaments from a temple-ring assemblage, with backs of hoops absent. From the David John Dennis collection of ancient jewellery; acquired on the UK art market in the early 2000s. David Dennis started collecting items when he was a 10 year old boy during the Blitz in London gathering parts of nose cones from shells and other pieces of shrapnel that had fallen from the skies. After the war he turned his attentions to cigarette cards, postage stamps, bank notes, coins and eventually ancient artefacts, predominately Roman jewellery. Now living in Cumbria with his daughter he decided it was time to part with his collections. [2, No Reserve] Fine condition.
6th century AD. A matched pair of silver-gilt bow brooches, each a D-shaped headplate with scallop detailing and three radiating collared knops, shallow bow with median rib, ribbed collar and beast-head finial, pin-lug and catch to the reverse; mounted on a custom-made stand. Cf. Heynowski, R. Bestimmungsbuch Archaeologie: Fibeln, Munich, 2012, item 3.24.2 for type. 125 grams including stand, brooch: 74mm (3"). From a North West London collection; previously acquired in the 1980s. [2] Very fine condition.
9th-11th century AD. A bronze appliqué of a facing female mask with carefully modelled hair and braided frame, bow beneath the chin. 7.20 grams, 27mm (1"). Property of a lady living in Kent, UK; formerly part of her grandfather's collection; acquired in Germany after WWII; thence by descent 2006. Very fine condition. Rare.
Harry Becker, oil on canvas board, cattle in a pasture, 14ins x 17ins, unsigned, gilt framed CONDITION REPORT Good condition, no damage or restoration. Perhaps a slight bow to the board.Provenance: From a deceased estate. Previously purchased at a London Auction House. It was then fully catalogued by them as Becker at that time. I understand that he rarely signs his work and that this is a typical example.
