Länge 80 cm.Zustand: II +A German silver-mounted courtly hunting hanger, circa 1840 Sturdy, single-edged blade with a double-edged point, a gilt ornament on a blued background etched onto both sides of the upper third. Silver knuckle-bow hilt with oak leaf decoration in relief. The black horn grip with a small imperfection, three decorative silver rivets in the shape of acorns on each side. Black leather scabbard, slightly restored, with smooth, silver fittings. Includes inserted by-knife with grip scales of black horn. Frog stud in the shape of an acorn. The hilt and locket stamped with the mark of fineness "13", the master's mark "HR" and assayer's mark. Length 80 cm.Condition: II +

Bedeutender Prunksäbel für hohe Offiziere mit Damastklinge, 1. Viertel 19. Jhdt. Geschwungene, beidseitig breit gekehlte Rückenklinge aus feinem Schmiededamast mit zweischneidiger Pandurenspitze. Über der kurzen Fehlschärfe geätzter, vergoldeter Dekor auf goldenem Grund in Form von Spontonen, Standarten, Trommeln, Kanonen und Schilden, anschließend bis über die Hälfte der Klinge geätzter und vergoldeter Dekor auf gekörntem Grund, dabei erneut Trophäen, Blüten und Ranken. Die zu zwei Dritteln vergoldete Schneide und die Blutrinne unterhalb des Rückens mit Blattranken verziert, der vergoldete Rücken mit außergewöhnlichem rankenden Astdekor. Reich reliefiertes Bügelgefäß mit Löwenkopfknauf, Voluten und Blütendekor, terzseitig auf der Parierstange der liegende bayerische Löwe, auf dem Bügel Darstellung einer geflügelten Göttin. Die Feuervergoldung teils berieben. Kannelierte Griffschalen aus Perlmutt. Länge des Säbels 99,5 cm. Die Messingscheide mit teils erhaltener Feuervergoldung, vorderseitig mit graviertem und punziertem Ornamental- und Floraldekor, zwei Trageringe an floral verzierten Bändern, der Trageknopf mit Palmettdekor. Gesamtlänge 102 cm.Hervorragend erhaltener Säbel mit wunderschöner Damastklinge, die starke Anlehnung an französische Vorbilder lässt auf eine Fertigung um/vor 1812 schließen.Zustand: I - IIA significant deluxe sabre for high officers with Damascus blade, 1st quarter of the 19th century Curved single-edged blade of fine forged Damascus steel with broad fullers on both sides and double-edged Pandour point. Above the short ricasso etched, gilt décor on a golden ground in the shape of spontoons, standards, drums, cannons and shields, followed by etched and gilt decoration on a grained ground extending over more than half the blade, depicting trophies, blossoms and tendrils. Two thirds of the scabbard with gold plating, scabbard and the fuller below the back decorated with tendrils, gilt back embellished with extraordinary, climbing branches. Knuckle-bow hilt with rich relief and lion’s head pommel, volutes and blossoms, recumbent Bavarian lion on the obverse of the quillons, depiction of a winged goddess on the knuckle bow. Fire gilding partly rubbed. Fluted mother-of-pearl grip scales. Length of sabre 99.5 cm. Brass scabbard with partly preserved fire gilding, on the obverse with engraved and punched ornamental and floral decoration, two suspension rings on bands decorated with flower ornaments, frog stud with palmette décor. Overall length 102 cm.Superbly preserved sabre with beautiful Damascus blade. The strong resemblance to French models indicates that the sabre was manufactured around/before 1812.Condition: I - II
