C.1922 FRANCOIS GUILLMONT - German made 4/4 violin. The musical instrument was likely made in the E.R. Schmidt workshop in Germany. The label reads " Francois Guillmont, Aix-la-Chapelle ". One piece maple back, ribs and neck, ebony fingerboard and tailpiece. the violin comes with a bow and hard case.
CARLO BERGONZI - an Italian violin instrument having a two piece maple back with ebony fingerboard and rosewood pegs, together with a violin bow having an ebony and mother of pearl frog, stamper HOMA to the side. The violin having a paper label to the inside “ Anno 1740 Carlo Bergonzi Fece In Cremona “. along with seven ebony spare tuning pegs. In original hard wood case.
A pair of late 19th Century and 20th Century silver plate twin handled wine champagne bottle holder buckets, both hallmarked. One having a stepped base and embossed bow shaped handles and the other having a pierced body. One being hallmarked for Maxfield & Sons and the other being hallmarked for Martin Hall, Sheffield. Measures 17 cm tall.
A rare and large Moritz Gottschalk model 2248 Blue roof Dolls House with original contents, German circa 1893-94, with paper red/ochre brick effect exterior, standing on a green base with front garden and fencing, steps leading to double French style front doors painted in orange and with glazing, decorative balcony above with similar doors and fanlight, four glazed bow windows to façade with ornate decorative mouldings and two further balconies and a central attic style window, pitched roof with two large chimney stacks. Front opens to six room on three levels all with good original papers to floors and walls, two hinged interior doors and original drapes and paper blinds to bay windows. Sitting room includes a Rock and Graner tinplate oval table, Waltershausen settee, chest of drawers, sideboard, four chairs and footrest, Mantle clock and desk, fireplace with mantle, tinplate coal scuttle, gilt wall clock with pendulum and various ornaments and pictures, bead and metalwork chandelier, and two dolls. Kitchen with wooden table, dresser, selection of pewter and kitchen ware, gilt soft metal bird cage with wax parrot and another, various ornaments and two dolls. Lounge with Waltershausen tapestry stretcher (one lid to base missing), chaise lounge, chest of drawers, bureau, mirror on stand, various chairs, rosewood chess table, soft metal sewing stand, pair of corner hanging shelves, bead and metal work chandelier, various ornaments, pictures and two dolls. Dining Room with Waltershausen chest of drawer and mirror, soft metal fireplace, chest of drawers, three matching chairs, soft metal magazine rack and stand, wall mounted clock, bead and metal chandelier, various ornaments, pictures and a doll. Attic room with a cherry wood marble top table, wardrobe, various chairs, tin bed, screen and more, (condition: some staining and minor tears to exterior papers, interior in good original condition), 39” (99cm) tall, 37 ¾” (96cm) wide and 23 ½” (60cm) deep. This dolls houses is illustrated in The Encyclopedia of Toys by Constance Eileen King pg.21.
A fine ‘café au lait’ linen two –piece fashion doll gown, French circa 1870, the jacket with long sleeves, flared cuffs and darker brown braiding, clasps to front, long skirt with fluted hem and bustle/bow to back, and further brown braid decoration, (condition: good, skirt needs to be sewn at waist when on doll) 13 ½” (34cm) in length, to fit approx. 16” fashion doll, together with a mauve 1870 fashion doll silk skirt, (2 items).
A fine wooden Noah’s Ark and Animals, German 1880s, brown painted bow bottom Ark, pitched roof with painted Dove, sides and ends painted in orange and cream with arched painted windows and decoration, siding side panel, together with over 200 various animals and birds 63 pairs of animals including giraffes, camels, pigs, elephants, lions, deer, cats, dogs and hounds, monkeys, horses, ponies, bears and many more, 31 pairs of birds, 6 people and 28 single animals and birds, (condition: generally very good, some wear to Ark, animals in generally good original condition, some ears, legs and tails missing), Ark 20” (51cm) long and 12” (30.5cm) high.
A good and large carved and painted wooden rocking horse on bow rockers, possibly F.H Ayres, the well carved dapple grey horse with open mouth and carved teeth, flared nostrils and pricked ears, the body with carved saddle back, outstretched legs and real hair mane and tail, leather bridal and saddle, mounted on bow rockers with rounded ends and turned cross-pieces, (condition: some rubbing to paint in places, saddle needs attention, lacks reins), 46” (117cm) tall.

Provenance: acquired by the vendor from the Faith Eaton collection.
