J. Martin Leake(?): 1792-1794 A Hand written Latin/Italian and English manuscript: C55 pages, writing with a neat hand to recto only. First part c20 pages in Latin/Italian and the rest in English, including one titled: The Mathematical Doctrine of the Rain-Bow. Folio, full vellum, with front blank page inscribed: J. Martin Leake and dated 1792, 1793, 1794. ((John Martin Leake?? (1739 - 1836) was one of the younger Pitt's' new administrators' and an important Treasury official; his wife, Mary Calvert, inherited several farms around Bishops Stortford from her Calvert and Tooke relations. They lived mainly at Old Windsor, but on the death of her elder brother, Stephen, John inherited the family property and bought out the shares of his brothers and sisters in Marshalls)).
