The countermarks were applied from March 1797. Coin and mark near extremely fine; some lustre. Scarce.

Dated 1895 AD. Old head. Obv: profile bust with VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP legend. Rev: St George and dragon with date in exergue. Dated 2017 AD. Struck on blank for obsolete and withdrawn type. Obv: profile bust with ELIZABETH II D G REF F D legend and date with panel below. Rev: national symbols with ONE POUND below. S. J39 for type.8.54 grams.Discovered in circulation, 2017. This one pound coin of the new type (issued 2017) has been struck on a blank for the previous, obsolete and withdrawn one pound coin rather than on the new bi-metallic flan that should have been used; such occurrences are extremely rare. Almost uncirculated; usual bag marks, lustrous. Extremely rare and dramatic; possibly unique.
1357-1367 AD. Second coinage, older head. Obv: profile bust and sceptre within tressure with +DAVID DEI GRA REX SCOTORVM legend. Rev: long cross and mullets with D in first quarter with DNS PROTECTOR DEVS and VILLA EDINBVRGH legend for Edinburgh mint. S. 5110.1.94 grams. Fine; flan clipped. Scarce.
1371-1390 AD. Obv: profile bust with sceptre with star at base within tressure with +ROBERTVS DEI GRA REX SCOTTORVM legend. Rev: long cross and mullets with +DNS PROTECTORMS LIBERTORMS and VILLA EDINBVRGH legends for Edinburgh mint. S. 5131; SCBI 35 (Oxford/Glasgow), 443-457.3.82 grams. Good very fine.

Obv: facing bust with sceptre and annulet left and saltire right of neck and small saltire in left field within tressure with annulest in spandrels and [+IACOB]VS DEI GRACIA REX SCO legend with lis and double annulet stops. Rev: long cross with lis/pellet trefoil with small pellet at centre/lis-and-annulet/pellet trefoil with small pellet at centre in angles with +DNS PTECTOR ME LIBATOR and VILLA EDINBVRGI legends with lis and double pellet stops for the mint at Edinburgh. S. 5195.2.15 grams. Near very fine. Scarce.
Dated 1852 AD. Made on a 1797 cartwheel penny. Obv: stipple engraved in lines 'George / Wilson / Died the 7th / of December / Aged 21 / Fought tom / welsh the 6th / Manchester / 18 52' with heart above and below having carved edges and within trailing wreath. Rev: profile bust with incuse GEORGIUS III REX legend of normal coin with stipple engraved 'George' left and 'Bevan' right of bust. 25.23 grams. Although very much in the style and workmanship of the contemporary convict love tokens, this example most unusually commemorates the death of young George Wilson, the day after he fought Tom Welsh in a match at Manchester held 6th December 1852; prize fights at this time were with bare knuckles without any of the modern rules and lasting an indefinite number of rounds (bouts of over 100 rounds are recorded) and only finishing when one fighter finally failed to 'toe the line' or 'threw in the towel'. [No Reserve] Near extremely fine. Very rare.

Rev: profile bust and incuse GEORGIUS III REX legend of normal coin with 'GEORGE III' engraved below bust. 26.15 grams.[No Reserve] Good very fine.
2nd-3rd century AD. A bronze figure of Mars standing on a square base with notched edges, wearing a cuirass over his tunic, greaves lace at the rear, crested helmet and carrying a round shield with bust of Medusa(?) to the centre; right arm raised and hand hollow to accept a sword or spear. Cf. Rolland, H. Bronzes Antiques de Haute Provence, Paris, 1965, item 22.58 grams, 81mm (3 1/4"). From a private collection; formed 1965-1975. Very fine condition.
Late Period, 664-332 BC. A mixed group of glazed composition amuletic plaques comprising: Bes with feathered headdress, pierced; a scarab wing, pierced; a discoid bead with wedjat design, pierced; a discoid plaque with bust of Serapis with modius. 17 grams total, 28-35mm (1 - 1 1/2"). Property of a lady; acquired in the late 1970s on the London art market.[4] Fine condition; Serapis chipped.
