Burgred (852-874), Penny, BURGRED REX, diademed bust right breaking inner circle, rev. type A, lunettes closed, moneyer Hvgere, HVGERE MONETA, in three lines, 1.17g, (N.423, S.942B). Fully centred strike on a round flan, legends clear both sides, all the main lines of the portrait visible, very fine. .Provenance:Purchased Mike Vosper
Coenwulf (796-821), Penny, Canterbury, +COENVVLF REX M, draped bust right breaking inner circle, rev. pincer cross with pellet in centre and wedges in angles and within limbs, +PERHEARD MONETA, 1.32g, (N.347, S.916). Small edge chip with a tiny edge crack from same area, coin solid, otherwise toned and bold, good very fine.
Charles I (1625-1649), Shilling, Tower mint under Parliament, group G, seventh narrow crowned bust left, mark of value behind, rev. square-topped shield over cross moline, mm. sceptre, 5.86g, (S.2802, N.2233). A couple of annealing marks but probably much as struck with a sharp portrait and superb fields, struck on a smaller flan typical of the type, about extremely fine.
Charles I (1625-1649), Threepence, 1644, Oxford mint, narrow crowned Rawlins bust left, R below, mark of value behind, rev. declaration in three lines, three lis above, date below, 1.27g, (N.2471, S.2994). Attempted piercing at 9 o'clock on inner circle, otherwise nicely toned and very fine or better.
Harold I (1035-1040), Penny, jewel cross type, Stamford, moneyer Godric, diademed bust left, +HAROLD REX, rev. jewel cross, +GODRIC ON STANF:, unusual bust style only represented by one other specimen in the EMC, 1.08g, (N.802, S.1163). Tiny edge crack near C of GODRIC not affecting coin, nearly extremely fine.
Henry III (1216-1272), Pennies (2), long cross, class 5, facing bust, class 5a2, London, NICOLE ON LVND, 1.43g, (N.991/2, S.1367); class 5b2, Bury St Edmunds, RANDVLF ON S'ED, 1.48g, (N.992/2, S.1368). Both bright, the first very fine the second good very fine.Provenance: Purchased Mike Vosper
Aethelred II (978-1016), Penny, long cross type, Cambridge, moneyer Eadwine, draped bust left, +ÆDELRÆD REX ANGLO, rev. voided long cross, +EDPINE MO GRANT, 1.51g, (N.774, S.1151). Probably previously slightly bent and straightened with associated flan stress, otherwise good very fine/very fine with a deep tone.Provenance:Purchased Lockdales 18th July 2002, lot 403

Struck from treasure seized by Admiral Anson, during his circumnavigation of the globe, and by other privateers. Nearly extremely fine.

Henry I (1100-1135), Penny, type XV, quatrefoil on cross fleury type, London, moneyer Roger, crowned bust facing, holding a sceptre, HENRICVS, rev. quatrefoil with lis at each angle over cross fleury, [….] R:ON:LV […], 1.38g, (N.871, S.1276). Struck on an irregular flan as normal, very fine.Provenance:Ex. Knaresborough hoard
Charles I (1625-1649), Unite, Tower mint, group A, first bust left in coronation robes, high double arched crown, mark of value behind, R of CAROLVS struck over rotated R, rev. square topped shield with plain garnishing, mm. lis (at the end of legend on rev.), 8.95g, (N.2146, S.2685, Brooker -). Full, round and well struck with an orange gold tone. A most attractive specimen, good very fine or better, the dies not represented in Brooker, die sinkers error unpublished.

Early to mid 20th century carved oak profile bust portrait in high relief mounted on rectangular maple plinth back with walnut frame, 38cm x 24cm. Inscribed verso "Carved by Foxfield, Cumberland, England"; also another carved oak plaque depicting the Madonna and Child, signed with monogram G. A., 29cm x 25cm.
