Alexander Munro (1825-1871) Portrait Relief of Pauline, Lady Trevelyan (1816-1866) plaster with gilt border, framed in mahogany veneer frame, unsigned 48cm diam, roundel, 62cm diameter (frame). A Minton Parian bust of Jenny Lind mid 19th century, modelled by Samuel Joseph, her head turned slightly to the right, raised on a titled socle base, signed 'S Joseph' to the reverse, 33cm. Johanna Maria 'Jenny' Lind (1820-1887) was a Swedish opera singer who performed across Europe and America, settling in England in 1855.
A rare terracotta bust by William John Coffee dated 1814, of a gentleman wearing 18th century dress, with short hair and sideburns, his head slightly turned and looking to the right, signed 'W J Coffee Fecit Derby 1814', raised on a polished black hardstone base, 25cm. William Coffee (1774-1846) was an English artist and sculptor of some renown who started his career working for William Duesbury at Derby. During this time he produced a series of busts like this one of local landowners and dignitaries. He emigrated to American in 1816, where he became famous as a sculptor of Thomas Jefferson, among others.
A Watcombe (Torquay) pottery bust and a similar figure group: the former modelled as H.R.H. The Princess of Wales, incribed verso 'Published by the Watcombe Pottery Co. St. Marychurch, South Devon. W.C. Lawton sculpt. copyright 1887, 30 cm high [devoid socle] the latter, probably by the Torquay Terracotta Company modelled as an embracing scantily clad couple on a circular base, 49 cm high, [small loss to finger, traces of silver paint].
