WORLD COINS, Germany, German Mediæval, Cologne, Archbishop Hermann III, Count of Nordheim (1089-1099) in the name of Heinrich IV, Silver Pfennig, facing bust with crozier and book, rev church with three towers within wall, 1.56g (Dan 412). A little buckled and short of flan, otherwise very fine.
WORLD COINS, Later German, Württemberg, Friedrich II (1754-1797-1816), Pattern Silver Convention Thaler, 1798, struck in London by Nathaniel Marchant (1731-1816), armoured bust left, rev crowned shield with Order, CUM DEO ET IURE AD NORMAM – CONVENTION, plain edge, 28.8g (Klein/Raff 4a; Ebner 4; Wurs 506; Dav 2875; KM Pn26). Choice extremely fine with prrof-like surface and even light tone, very rare. Friedrich had married Princess Charlotte, the Princess Royal and eldest daughter of George III, in London in May 1797, a few months before inheriting the kingdom of Württemberg. He used his contacts within the Court of George III to have the Thaler struck in London, to commemorate his Coronation.

Obverse legends unclear, fine.
