A MID 17TH CENTURY HANGER, 52cm double fullered clipped back blade struck with an orb and sceptre mark to either side, characteristic hilt pierced with foliage and decorated with a trio of heads or busts, D-shaped knuckle guard with a bust at the mid point, natural horn grip. Bordering on the relic condition, probably English circa 1650. The mask decoration appears to reflect that commonly found on mortuary swords.
