Craquelure throughout, including some deep craquelure on collar and dress, and some circular cracks in top left background. Paint surface appears flattened. Seen under UV, there appears to be some retouching to the background, a small repair just above the sitter's fringe, and some infilling to the craquelure on the face. There are some light scratches in the righthand side background. Some very tiny flakes of paint loss in hair, by ear, on nose and in background.

D. Brucciani & Co of London. An ebonised plaster bust of Augustus, with integral socle, height 27in.CONDITION: Thought to date from the mid 20th century but possibly a little earlier, black painted finish may well have been overpainted at some point but still looks effective and has a mostly matted tone, a few light areas of scuffing around the edges where the white plaster is showing through.

Mazzotti, Ano 1825 ..., height 25in.CONDITION: Overall intact but slightly rubbed condition with wear to the top of the head, nose, lower neck and shoulders and further rubbing probably from polishing over the years on other raised extremities, otherwise a little dirty with small dents and nicks throughout but essentially honest condition, the inscription is incised on the back.

Steve Bloomer - Derby County Interest: A pair of Steve Bloomer lucky Goal Scorer Football boots, stamped on the sole with an image of Steve Bloomer and his autograph and the phrase "The Boot Which Never Fails to Score", the autograph is embossed not hand written, with original laces (in good condition) Steve Bloomer is described as the first great commercially marketable footballer. The George Best of his day. He played for Derby County where he is remembered as a legend and also for Middlesbrough. He made 23 appearances for England between 1895 and 1907 and was for a time the leading England International goal scorer. The song "Steve Bloomer is Watchin"; is played at Derby home games and there is a bust of him at Pride Park Stadium. He was nicknamed “The Destroying Angel.” Provenance: The boots were found in the store room of shop in Nottinghamshire which was closing down in about 1970. The shop belonged to the vendor's my mother in law and they were just stopped them from being thrown away because at the time the vendor was told “Youngsters don’t want boots like this anymore”.

A 19th Century banded agate carved cameo and yellow precious metal mounted brooch of oval design, carved with the head and shoulder bust of a roman gentleman in profile, in a yellow precious metal mount, 6.5cm high x 5cm. Condition Report Small chip to the most prominent leaf of the wreath, otherwise good condition. There are no cracks to the cameo. Gross weight of brooch: 35gms. The cameo is a bit loose in its setting and needs to be made more secure. Carat of gold unknown. Provenance unknown.
