Grand Cross Set, intituted in 1906. Sash Badge, 105x77 mm, gilt Silver, trefoiled, red enameled, GOLD edge and 9 rays between the limbs. Silver crowned eagle, spreaded wings on the cross, holding a sword in the right claw and a scepter in the left. Round GOLD medallion on the eagle’s chest with King Carol’s 1st bust, on the reverse a blue medallion with the legend: ”1866-10 Mai-1906”, in the centre, King Carol I cipher. Above the cross a silver crown and the inscription: ”1866-10 Mai-1906”. Below, a GOLD scarf with blue enameled legend: ”Prin statornicie la izbanda”, original light blue sash, in very rare original case of issue. Breast Star, 1st Model, 85 mm, gilt Silver, hallmarked ”800”, maker’s mark ”Paul Telge, Berlin”, the shape of an 8 rays star, eagle in the center, in very rare original case of issue. The Order of Carol I, the highest Romanian Order, instituted on May 10th, 1906, part of the 40th jubilee celebration of King Carol of Hohenzollern, was awarded until 1932 in 4 classes: Collar, Grand Cross, Grand Officer and Commander. With the introduction of the Order of Loyal Service in 1932, the last two classes of the Order Carol I were closed, but the decorations could be worn until 1947. An extremely rare set in perfect condition! I RR!

Reliquienbüste des Heiligen Paulus aus Holz. SÜDFRANKREICH, um 1500-1520 halbfigurige Darstellung des Heiligen Paulus, Nussbaumholz, vollrund geschnitzt, gehöhlt und farbig gefasst. das jugendliche Haupt ist mit gelocktem Bart und Haar schön ausgearbeitet. In seiner linken Hand hält die Figur das aufgeschlagene Evangeliumbuch. Die rechte Hand ruhte wohl ursprünglich auf einem Schwertknauf (ein neu gearbeitetes Schwert ist lose anbei). Das Gewand ist mit Falten im gotischen Stil beschnitzt. Auf der Brust befindet sich eine ovale Vertiefung, die mit einem polierten Bergkristall die Reliquie einschliesst. Originaler, polygonaler Sockel mit umlaufendem Doppelprofil. Diverse Risse und Absplitterungen. Reste von originaler Farbfassung. H. 31 cm, Breite des Sockels 20 cm. Restauriert. Zusatzinformation: aus einer süddeutschen Privatsammlung. Provenienz: Galerie Viktor Puch, München, Expertise anbei. | Relic bust of Saint Paul made of wood. SOUTH OF FRANCE, around 1500-1520, half-figure representation of Saint Paul, walnut wood, carved in the full circle, hollowed and painted in color. the youthful head is beautifully worked out with a curly beard and hair. In his left hand the figure holds the open gospel book. The right hand probably originally rested on a sword pommel (a newly worked sword is loosely attached). The robe is carved with folds in the Gothic style. On the chest there is an oval recess that encloses the relic with a polished rock crystal. Original, polygonal base with a circumferential double profile. Various cracks and chips. Remnants of the original paint. H. 31 cm, width of the base 20 cm. Restored.
