Very fine, scarceNotes: Henry Meiggs (1811-1877) was an American who ended up in South America on the run from the US authorities, having perpetrated a huge financial fraud. He became a successful railway builder, building railways in Peru, Chile and Costa Rica. 206 medals were struck in bronze.
A 19th Century gothic carved oak bookcase, moulded pediment above carving of the green man on an open bookcase, flanked by carving of gothic lions, Egyptian type figures and forest decoration throughout, on a fretwork moulded edge above a heavily carved frieze drawer with handle carved as a child bust, above geometric type moulded single panelled with a child bust handle on a drawer base with a lion bust carve handle. 178cm H x 115cm W x 45cm D
by T Rawlins, the oval medallion with right facing crowned portrait bust of King Charles I with motto around, the reverse with full Royal arms within garter and crowned, with integral suspension loop(4.7cm high, 9g)Note: Various Stuart supports badges such as this were created from the 1660’s when Charles I was overthrown and latterly beheaded. Worn by supporters of the Stuart royal family they would have been hidden underclothing and a highly personal accessory. They were presumably only shown to other supporters or to back up a persons claim to be a supporter. Their use and significance took on a further role with the ousting of King James and the growing Jacobite cause.

AFTER M NOBLE "Purity", a Classical maiden with flowing locks, Parian ware bust inscribed verso "Ceramic and Crystal Palace Art Union Pub. November 1851, Copeland, M Noble", 32 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Basically sound though with some firing blemishes and cracks. See images. Small chip to the top edge of the socle base and signs of cement holding the base and to the very underside which may or may not be original to the piece. Otherwise slightly grubby and arguably in need of a clean.

AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY COPPER/BRONZE BOX the lid with a portrait bust of the Duke of Wellington, titled, the base with an inscription within a wreath, this box would have originally contained rondels commemorating the Duke's famous victories, now containing a Swedish coin inscribed '1 Skilling' and dated '1815', together with a similar box, the lid with the bust of George Prince of Wales, titled and dated 'February 5th 1811' and a tin box with the bust of Queen Victoria (3) 4.7cm diameter (max) PROVENANCE 'A Lifetime of Collecting' - The Property of a Gentleman.
A bronze bust of a boy, signed R.Swann 1930, on marble base, height 38cm, some scuffing to the nose shows some white metal although we still believe this to be bronze.CONDITION: There are several chips to the edges and corners of the marble base, the bronze itself is a little worn in areas, the tip of his nose is scuffed.
