A carved oak stool, two others, and a bedside table, 38 cm wide (4) Condition report Report by GH The oblong stool with rounded ends Has a large crack down the middle of the board. A very small amount of evidence of old woodworm. Turning the piece over we can see that four screws have been added, probably later, to secure the top to the base and legs. There is also a strengthening block of wood which has been added to the underside. The legs are loose and the joints appear to have begun to come apart. The table overall is dented, well used and patinated with some chips and dents to the bottom of the turned legs. The small stool with the carved top Has dents, scratches, gouges and wear commensurate with age. There is also a split to one corner and crazing to the varnish. One leg has a long split all the way down, revealing one of the joints and revealing that at some point the top has been secured to the base with nails. Otherwise there are dents, scratches, chips and a dark patina commensurate with age and use. Structurally it is still very firm. The last stool with the hole in the top Scratched, chipped and gouged with one of the friezes coming away from the top of the table and also evidence of repairs done with nails and splits near some of the joints. The stool also appears to have been revarnished quite badly. The bedside cupboard Has several burn marks, dents and scratches to the top and small patches of old overpolished woodworm throughout. The bottom drawer handle has come off bust is present and the cupboard handle is loose. Elsewhere there are chips, scratches and gouges commensurate with age.
