A modern Continental porcelain urn, bearing marks for Sevres, with a shaped domed top, headed by an Acorn finial and flanked by cherubic bust handles, the part textured body decorated with flowers on white ground, raised above a further gilt highlighted blue ground body on a gilt base, with blue marks beneath, 49cm high.

A French mantel clock, c.1890, the movement by Vincenti, striking on a bell, the marble column surmounted by a bronze bust of Bacchus, a gilded putto and a mask, 55cm high CONDITION REPORT: No obvious faults. Base is stable, bit of movement on pedestal. Some wear to finish and gilded parts. Holes on either side of base, suggesting missing something. Please view additional images (upon request).

Acquired privately from Numismatica Varesi According to Herbert Grueber, the obverse bust is Accia Larentia, the nurse of Romulus and Remus, and the reverse figures are the Querquetulanae virae, nymphs of the oak grove at a stage of producing green growth. Their sacred grove was within the Porta Querquetulana, a gate in the Servian Wall.

§ JOHN DUNCAN FERGUSSON R.B.A. (SCOTTISH 1874-1961)EASTRE (HYMN TO THE SUN)Bronze40cm (15.75in) highNote: Fergusson carved the original in plaster in 1921, but kept it under his bed for three years before he found someone who could pay for it to be cast in 1924. It is believed only one lifetime cast was made, which is held in the collection of Aberdeen Art Gallery.A posthumous edition of 6 was cast in 1971 and a second posthumous edition of 10 in 1991, celebrating the Fergusson Gallery project, which opened in 1992. This bust is from the 1991 casting.
†A plaster head of a child mid 20th century on ebonised base 26cm.; 10ins high together with another shellac covered plaster head on ebonised metal base 26cm.; 10ins high The bust on the left is a scale model head taken from the Snake Charmer modelled by Louis Weingartener in the early 20th century. Weingartener together with Walter Gilbert were the leading modellers for the Bromsgrove Guild foundary. He worked for theGuild from 1904 until his untimely death in 1921.
